Yes,
Souldrinker
is the best in slot weapon for tanks currently. To verify this, you can go to the item page and select "Find upgrades" (red button near top right of the page next to the Quick Facts panel). Selecting any of the tanking class / spec options and filtering out MoP content shows that there are in fact no upgrades available.

Just checked that...
Saw the MoP PvP weapon damage...
Fainted.

Hand of Morchok
is BiS for 1h tanks at the moment. Souldrinker is supposed to be a tank weapon but really is BiS for DW Frost DKs.

Depends on what spec they are.
Usually 1h BIS is the agi axe of Madness(forget name) for any 1h's currently.
You mean
No'Kaled, the Elements of Death
? That is definitely not BIS for tanks. Agility does nothing for us (unless you're bear, but this is the warrior forum)
Hand of Morchok
is the 1h axe we're talking about that is BIS

No, heroic Souldrinker is BiS for one handed tanks. Don't underestimate the amount of healing and damage that the proc does. The extra secondary stats on the Hand don't make up for the increased weapon DPS, damage, and healing from Souldrinker.

Depends on your playstyle then. Mr. Robot was used for t13H only. It hasn't done me wrong yet. And honestly souldrinker doesnt proc as often as some people might think. Plus your missing stats to reforge and a gem slot.

Yeah, I don't really like Ask Mr. Robot for tanking. Maybe it works okay for other classes, but I don't like its suggestions. For example, its BiS list wants you to use two stamina trinkets and have passive 102.4% in other slots. I disagree. I prefer to get the passive 102.4% with only ONE stamina trinket always used (Indomitable Pride) and use Mirror as my baseline other trinket. That way I can use Mirror (Yor'sahj, Zon'ozz), Stay of Execution (Madness), or Resolve (Spine), and still have my second stamina trinket available to use if I don't really care about my CTC (Morchok, maybe Gunship, maybe Madness).

I loaded my prot warrior into Mr. Robot and it suggests I reforge for Mastery & Dodge. Granted I'm a far cry from having any of my BiS gear since I just hit 85, and Diablo 3 put a serious dent in my progress. I guess I was expecting it to lean more towards Parry for some reason.

it probably doesn't account for Hold the Line very well. technically, you will get more total avoidance by keeping parry and dodge close, but it's a small amount.
you'll be fine if you keep parry > dodge.

Yeah, it doesn't handle Hold the Line well. I have parry stacked quite a bit above my dodge for two reasons. One is for the HtL, but the other is for when I'm running Resolve and getting a huge chunk of Dodge I don't want to upside down on my Dodge/Parry ratio.

hello everyone , this post are for people claiming the soul drinker is a tank weapon, a direct copy paste from the GM:
-----------------------------------------start of quote--------------------------------------------------
Greetings,
Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department. I have checked in to your report of trouble with the rules in LFR.
The weapon in question appears to be Souldrinker. Contrary to common belief, Souldrinker is not a tanking weapon as there are a complete lack of tanking stats. While it is great for Warrior and Paladin tanks, it is catagorized as both a tanking and DPS item. As such, both tanks and DPS are allowed to roll on it so long as the primary stats are reasonable for their class.
I would like to apologize for any trouble or inconvenience this has caused and hope you continue to enjoy playing.
Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

----------------------------------------end quote------------------------------------------------------
there is your proof that this is not intended as a tank weapon (because of the lack of tank stats on it) it is however viable but that does not make the tank any more entitled to get it then the dps are, so you tanks might as well quit the whining, since the dps are just as entitled to get it as you are, remember that the next time you start whining when a dps wins it.
Nowhere in this entire thread has anyone made the statement that Souldrinker is strictly a tanking weapon, and that DPS have no right to it. You created that argument entirely on your own. The debate was whether or not it is the BiS weapon for warrior tanks, just in case you missed that part. I also didn't see anyone "whining" about DPS beating them on a roll for this weapon...
Your "proof that this is not intended as a tank weapon" itself proves you wrong since the reply that you posted clearly shows the GM stating that it is classified as a tank/DPS item.
tl;dr - Please read the entire thread before posting and attempting to create an argument supported by information that invalidates your own argument.

So nobody said anything about it being a tank weapon in this thread eh? .. here is a quote from Squirekel at the top of the posts: Yes, Souldrinker is the best in slot weapon for tanks currently.
end of quote, another quote from porcell : Souldrinker is BiS for one handed tanks.--- end of quote---
nobody said it was
ONLY
a tank weapon, which is what you seem to be arguing against. it can still be a good tank weapon.

you state that i am wrong when stating that the GM says its not a tank weapon, here is a quote from a part of the quote i gave last: Contrary to common belief, Souldrinker is not a tanking weapon as there are a complete lack of tanking stats.--- end of GM quote--
i dont think it can be much clearer then that what the GM said there.
And the very next line reads "While it is great for Warrior and Paladin tanks, it is categorized as both a tanking and DPS item."
nobody said it was
ONLY
a tank weapon, which is what you seem to be arguing against. it can still be a good tank weapon.
Thank you for clarifying that.
You can't pick and choose the lines that support your argument and ignore the ones that don't. Yes, it does completely lack tank stats, but it is still an excellent weapon for warrior tanks.
