I haven't played WoW or Woheadeded (sorry, just haven't had a reason to =/) In nearly a Year, but I noticed today when I came back that I have 500/500 for "Critic" Silver Achievement, but only ~390/2,500 for the Gold Achievement.
Does the Gold take 3,000 ....orrrr wat..? Honestly just morbid curiosity, I highly doubt I'll ever get it there any way and I think I just might be A-OK with that, but still wondering.

I'm not sure, but it could be that Critic required less votes when you completed it, and it's only showing 500/500 because the system cannot display partial completion for completed achievements - basically, it looks up whether you completed it first, and when that's true, it just assumes you have 500/500 ;)

I had a quick look and Nathanyel is right in that you're actually under 500 total ratings-given right now (~360) so it's the silver that you do have but shouldn't that's the problem.
It could be a change in the achievement though I can't remember one. It could be an interaction with a banned user's comments (maybe you down-voted a ton of spam stuff that got removed entirely or something). However, if it's an anomaly that's not affecting lots of other users (and since you've gained an achievement and not lost one) it might not be worth spending too much time getting to the bottom of it.

My guess on this would be because votes for comment replies no longer count for the Critic achievements. After that change was made, my own count for Hardcore Critic went down pretty significantly. :(

I guess another possibility would have been that a lot of my old votes were on comments before the Purging, thanks! Good enough for me
