If I may add to this at all, may I suggest looking after your healers? So many times I've been forced to look after myself, with 10 other people around me, as a rogue or two stab me in the ass, chain stun me, pull me apart, and the entire group goes when I do..
It's less stressful as a pally, because I pop "lol immune", move, heal, stun, do whatever I need to. As a pally I always make sure my DPS have free movement, I stun or AoE silence a mage that I know is going to blink to run away, or a healer from popping a few instant heals. Denounce too for 0 crits. I love it on my pally, I hate it when not on my pally. Tip. If you are a pally, keep an eye on your healers. HoP on a healer can save you, or ruin you. Against casters, it's useless, BUT, since most of the DPS going after healers are rogues/warriors/ferals it's almost guaranteed to save them. 8 - 10 seconds of physical damage immunity, can help more than you realise. HoP on a warrior/rogue/feral is a bannable offence. Don't do it -.-
As a shaman, I love three specific totems. Earthbind (I love you, I love you, I love you so much <333) It hits stealthed rogues, as does my AoE fire totem. I love my glyphed healing totem.. all that resistance... and against rogues too! Only problems I really have as a shammy, is that water shield = healer = focus, and I can't remove DK disease slows.. I was told by a friend I'd have two points spare to spend on either instant ghost wolf, or a 5 sec stun. Take the stun if you guys want, but an instant ghostwolf means I can instantly run away. I can instantly increase my runspeed to get to someone just in time to earthshield, riptide, and healing surge. If there's a secondary target, I'll drop a hex if I can spare the attention. If I have to, I'll pop my elementals to increase DPS enough to push for a tower or help take out an EFC (if the earth and fire totems wont be missed) I consider a shaman second in flexibility to a druid, I know others will disagree, but totems can be targeted, and you have to spend mana replacing totems. A druid shapeshifts, pops an ability for that form, shifts again, heals, shifts again, stuns or DPS's, and does almost whatever they want if they can shapeshift freely. if I have casters, I'll drop windfury, if I have melee, I'll drop Strength. but only if they need a quick DPS upgrade and there's no hunter with a cat around.
My priest... Let's ignore my priest. Yay, clothie, rogue one shot! Hate it so much >.> Bubble, burst heal, flash heal, proc, free instant flash heal, proc, free instant flash heal. PoM saves lives with two or more people receiving constant damage, best with dots, but if needed for a quick party heal, it helps too. And Mass Dispel. Oh how I love and despise mass dispel. It'll remove a pally bubble, quick cast and lucky it'll remove an AoE fear. Fort and shadow resist. Granted a pally with resist aura up doesn't stack with shadow resist... but the amount of pallies I see with resist aura up.... Lifegrip! Oh how many times have I saved a hunter by Lifegripping, popping heals, and running? Well timed, it can save a battle for a flag/tower, mistimed it can let someone get away.. And as a Disc priest, I always, always get Power Infusion. I see a cata mage/druid/shammy/lock casting with heavy DPS? *pop* instant DPS increase + lower cost. Also, something that should be mentioned, because almost NO ONE does it. Mind Vision. How does no one realise the advantage of this one little ability in oh... say... AB? I've turned a battle entirely around, by using MV, and calling out number of defenders, class, SPEC if I can see a clear indication of what they are. MV, used with a clear view of the location (LM/BS) can give so much information to the team! If you talk, constantly, and supply all the information you can to the BG (without spamming the same thing constantly) the good players can pick up and co ordinate based upon your information. The only other thing I'll mention is mind control. A well placed MC.. is almost as good as an ele shaman's AoE "Lol, see ya!" in EotS EFC has flag and is heading to a base unsupported? MC EFC, run to edge, jump off. Oh the joy of being praised by the entire BG when they see that happen. Okay, one more thing. MIND SPIKE REMOVES DOTS. once more. MIND SPIKE REMOVES ANY AND ALL DOTS ON YOUR TARGET! The amount of times I see people dotting, mindspiking, dotting, mindspiking >_<
My druid. What can I say about my druid? I'm annoying. I'm either stealthed, or healing. I know stealth doesn't give me alot of speed, but speed isn't my issue, surviving is. I can move and pop up behind someone, pop my instants, swap to catform, and run as they swap to me, meanwhile my HoT'ed target is almost fully healed and raring to go. If I can spare it, I pop Faerie fire on whoever I can to increase incoming damage, if it wont hurt anyone, I'll cyclone a healer or a rogue, or any other high output DPS. So many druids do the stupidest thing! They cyclone a target that's being beaten down by 5 of their team mates. Who does that? The cycloned target becomes immune, attention swaps to something else, they trinket and run, and by the time anyone's realised, they're safe.
I'm sorry that I'm rambling, but I love healing. I love being an all-rounder. I love being "second" or "support" because as support, it's my job to help and support others.
As a pally, it's keeping healers safe, preventing crits, and stunning runners/healers/healer killers. And freedom of movement.. can't forget freedom.
As a priest, my priority is dispel, MC annoyance, AoE fearbomb saves, Intelligence (See MV), and removing "Lol, immune" and turning it into "Lol- awww T-T"
As a shaman, support/heals is my priority. I hamper all movement, I chain heal to get as many crits and -10% buffs to inc damage I can on everyone, for the lowest possible cost. Healing totem is a constant, AoE, minor heal. KEEP THAT TOTEM UP. Haste buffs or Spellpower buffs to my casters or my own heals help me in my role.
As a druid, my goal is to be out of reach of everyone, a temptation, a lure. Druids have the ability to shapeshift for a reason. A resto druid can pop bear, and cast demoralising roar. They can pop cat and dash. Stampeding roar. A druid's weapon, is their very own jack of all trades nature.
