Wowhead client + MoP?

Hey wowhead!
I was wondering if it is already possible in some way to use the wowhead client with the MoP beta? I've tried to find info on this, and I have also tried running it with the beta, but ofcourse it would not work since using addons -like wowhead looter- is still disabled.
Yet I see that MoP data is obviously being uploaded to the site.. I was just wondering how it is gathered at the moment, and if there is any way that I could contribute to it :)

To my knowledge the data is being gathered manually by the staff who break down the data "behind the scenes" and post the information to the site. Especially since the Wowhead AddOn is not currently functional since all AddOn's are still disabled for MoP beta (as you noted).
The best way to contribute right now is most likely screenshots (which I notice you contribute greatly in that area) as well as testing the actual beta content for Blizzard. The faster the bugs are worked out by testers the faster our AddOn's will work and hopefully they'll even release the game more quickly! :)

Yeah I figured it was something like that.
I guess I will just happily continue my screenshot madness until the addons are enabled then! :)
I don't think it's too far off.. I wouldn't be surprised if lvl 90 premades became available next patch, and I guess addons will follow after the heroics have been tested a fair bit.
Next up.. Dread Wastes, Krasarang Wilds and Townlong Steppes! They are strangely lacking in screenshottage still. I'm also trying to get all the lore objects (for the Lorewalkers achis) in a way that gives clues about their location. Someone restrict me from posting any more Jade Forest screenshots though.. can't... stop... finding... beautiful.. places.. aaaghh ;)

The Wowhead Addon does not currently work in the Beta, yes, but the Client should automatically (check your settings) detect the Beta and upload e.g. the cache files - which is most of the data it uploads anyway.

Well, either I am doing that wrong, or it doesn't work for me.. I have it pointed to the beta wow, but it tells me 'this version of WoW uses an unsupported realm' and then stops.

Addons have been enabled in yesterday's patch, so it should be working now..

The ingame addon was horribly bugged out when I tried to use it on the beta.

Indeed it is.
What i wonder is if tracking the loot table of mobs is still viable now that you have aoe-loot available.
Guess that screw horribly with the already inaccurate tables.

Even with AoE loot, the loot is still done on individual basis (or atleast it was, last time I checked, 1½ month ago), even when auto-looting.. This was back when the corpses also turned towards you, when you looted them.
I used my laptop, which is turtle-speed, and I could see that the items in the loot-window disappeared in chunks.
E.g. There was 3 mobs to be looted, and the window contained 50 silver, 3 cloth and 1 weapon.
First 20s and 1 cloth disappeared.
Then 25s and weapon disappeared
Then 5s and 2 cloth was finally removed from window and it was empty..
As I see it, it's proof that the game client opens all corpses, display the loot in a single window, but loot the corpses one by one.
Can't say, if the same applies to the game now, but I suspect they haven't changed anything.

How is it bugged out? I have been using it for months (there were ways around add-ons) and it worked fine for me. If you can give us feedback, we can look into it--maybe this patch broke something.

Wowhead client claims the MoP beta client is "not a valid WoW application".

I don't think this is true, or at least not in a way that can be of use to any addons. When I aoe loot, there is only one loot open event, the targets never change during the looting process, and the chat log only displays the totals looted. Thus I'm not sure how an addon would be able to determine which mobs in a pack dropped what. Am I missing something?

In the first couple of Betas, you could see the corpses turn towards you, as they were looted, one by one.. It was pretty creepy..

I just did a fresh install of WoW on a Windows 7 Home Premium X64 fresh OS install and when I run Wowhead_Client.exe it immediately forces me to browse and point to either my Wow.exe or Wow-64.exe. When I choose either it returns "This is not a valid World of Warcraft application.".
Nothing mentioned above fixes the error.
Help?

Since the launch of 5.0.4 whenever I open a profession window (LW, cooking, enchanting, BS etc) I get the following error. I tried downloading and reinstalling the client again. Cleared my WTF and all of the standard troubleshooting steps.
This isn't a huge error (doesn't crash wow) but it does bug the profession window. Prevents crafting and other assorted oddities.

The function you're having a problem with has long been removed from the addon, are you having problems updating the client? (if you do try reinstalling it from

Same error for me. OS X (Mountain Lion), fresh client install.
