so, Monk Brewmaster tank. I have a level 20 monk on beta, and a level 86 (premade) I would like to tank some instances. I have 2 tanks live, a paladin and DK, But am lost as to a priority on spells. Monks have a lot of spells at 85+ and i am unsure when to use which one. maybe I missed it on EJ.com but last update i see from them is march and seems outdated. And i cant find anything from the blues about it either.
Drunken haze The placement ring does not go away after clicking the ground. is this normal? it seems strange.
Basically im asking what "rotation" i should go with for pulling and tanking instances. That or call me a noob and link the site i should have seen days ago :P
Thanks in advance!

Isn't really a site for it yet.
If single mob: Just run up and use Keg Smash as your opener, then Jab till the Chi bar is full, hit Guard if needed, then Tiger Palm, and repeat.
If a pack: Dizzying Haze to pull them, Keg Smash them when they are close, hit Guard then Spinning Crane Kick; rinse and repeat.
And yes, there is an issue with Haze not going away till you do another action.

"And I guess
+
means Yes so I'm just gonna $%^&ing pull." LOL
There are two things I disagree with in regards to that video...
He is using Zen Sphere over Flame Breath because it causes AoE healing and damage, buuuuut Flame Breath is still better. Not because of the initial damage it does, or the DoT it does, but because with Glyph of Flame Breath, you CC (disorient) everything that you hit for a brief period of time. The CC does not seem to suffer much diminishing returns currently. Naturally, an AoE CC also means it interrupts the casting of everything it hits, which is great. Basically, I prefer to use an ability that makes the enemies completely harmless for like 1,5 seconds over an ability that heals for 70k AoE.
He is not using the Jade tornado level 90 talent. Xuen the White Tiger is weak as hell, and he doesn't even use it all that often. The Jade tornado has a
30 second cooldown
. A.k.a. it is up every signle pull, and possibly even multiple times during a trash pull. It deals tremendous burst damage. It makes Spinning Crane Kick damage crazy. As of now, this talent is pretty much a no-brainer choice.
(Obviously, both the Zen Sphere and the Flame Breath glyph are gonna be nerfed at some point so both mine and his recommendations are just temporary.)
edit: I actually talked a little bit to the guy who made that vid and turned out he didn't even know about the rushing jade wind talent. Well now he does.

I've been hearing alot that compared to the other tanks, Monks are super squishy but do alot of dps. Is this a real problem or is it just people sucking and not playing it right yet?

Its the latter.
Monks have an active mitigation system (where you must use your own skills to soak damage) rather than passive mitigation (where you just stack avoidance and watch how most of the mob/boss attacks are parried/dodged/blocked.)
When played correctly monks not only have a superb survival, they also deal an insane damage. Ohh well, at least people will stop complaining about blood Dks now (Hey, I can dream ok?)

Yeah I'm pretty keen to try out a monk tank as my main alt (confused yet? lol) after my blood dk. imo it's easier to stick to the same roll when playing an alt and Monks look really fun.
