By the same token, would it be possible to implement a feature to flag items marked as no longer available ingame as incorrect? For instance, I've seen
Trophy of the Crusade drop as recently as 2 weeks ago, but the database says it was removed.

I found a workaround for twinking my toon using the Wowhead "Find Upgrades" feature and avoiding (most) unobtainable items using two filters:
- Miscellaneous - Available to players: Yes (default)
- Source - Source: Any
Now, I just need to find a way to avoid Horde-only items that aren't explicitly Horde-only (items sold by
Krom'gar Quartermaster, drops from NPCs that are friendly to Alliance and hostile to Horde).
Maybe it'd be nice if we could flag these items as "circumstantially Alliance/Horde only." It's not the same as purely "Alliance/Horde only" because you can potentially purchase the BoE items through the Neutral AH, so people who are interested in cross-faction trading could keep these items visible. But, those of us who only want to see items that our characters can personally obtain would benefit from this distinction.

That item shows it dropping, we did a data push over a week and a half ago with like hundreds of little fixes.
As for why we don't allow flags, you would be surprised how many people submit incorrect data :( Sometimes it's a troll or sometimes people are mistaken. I think feedback is full of hundreds if not thousands of suggestions, probably less then 1/10th valid.
People especially mess up with quests, they will see a quest we flag as removed and insist its in there. However, if you look, there are 2 quests of the same name, Blizzard often does duplicates, so it's correct that this one is actually removed.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

There's always the feedback button in the top right corner. When you click it it automatically includes the current URL and there's an additional field for URL if required. Out of curiosity, where and how are you running into these items? I looked up a few items my characters have picked up in the distant past have that I know where removed since (as in, removed with quests that previously awarded them making them no longer available) and while the sample size isn't very large all of them were correctly flagged as no longer available.
+ If there's only the occasional item you come across I'd suggest reporting them as you find them.
+ If it's whole swathes of items chances are it's something systematic that can be similarly remedied. Unlikely (as in, they're usually on the ball enough to have picked up all of the cases of this by now) but a description of the kinds of items you're coming across would probably be helpful in determining whether this is the case. Keep in mind that these flags are added manually (as far as I know).
+ Items wouldn't be flagged unless an item is no longer possible to get ingame in an absolute sense. For example the old crafted items using
Frozen Rune from Naxx 40 are still technically available since you could still get them crafted if you still have Frozen Runes and find a crafter even though neither the runes nor the patterns are obtainable anymore.
SquireKel, the trophy you linked isn't listed as removed from the game at all.
E// Bugger, Ashelia beat me to it.
