I mostly don't even look at trade chat unless I need something, or am bored. I made a separate chat window which shows Guild, party, raid, bg chat, /say and emotes, as well as showing achievement spam (I think), but doesn't get any global channels. If I am really curious about trade chat, or need to see if someone was selling something I needed recently, I can tab back to that window and scroll through, but most of the time I don't even see it.
I think more than trade, though, I can't stand when people beg in guild chat. It's one thing to ask if someone has an extra mat or two, or if you can buy something (and honestly, if someone asks to buy I usually end up giving to them for free anyway, unless it's some major item), or something like that. But when someone- especially someone who is new or doesn't really socialize with guildies other than to ask for stuff- asks for thousands of gold for flying, or thousands of gold worth of hard to get mats, it irks me.

On my server what we do is tell them to go and do there dailies. That for the most part shuts them up. People forget that at 85 you can get around 13-16g per Daily and that can turn into a nice amount of gold in a short time.
If telling them to go do there dailies doesn't work then Ignore is always there. But most of the time this doesn't have to happen as they get about 5-10 people yelling and cussing at them in trade to do there dailies like everyone else.

I had someone ask me for gold to enchant their pants. I told them that their mom paid me gold to disenchant her pants. He replied saying
:O!
That was the end the coversation.

Open trade with beggar.
Put 1000 gold in trade window.
Eat dinner.
Watch some TV.
Coming back to find newbie still standing there, having whispered you every 15 seconds for the last 45 minutes.....
priceless.

A level 85 should know better, I Report and Ignore. He is either a gold seller trying to get the last 100gp or so farmed, or a newb that bought a toon as far as I am concerned both TOS violations..........

Meh - beggars don't bother me. There are much more annoying people playing the game besides the ones who beg.
So true.

I have no pity for beggars, but I have been handing out gold (I have spent a little over 1500g at one time) to random players.
I tell low level players to go mine something or skin some monsters and sell on the AH or that they just don't need that amount of money at lvl X.
Highlevels have to do quests or simply grind it. Your finacial problems or ability to keep the gold in your pocket should not bother me, but then I simply /ignore or /report spams.

If there is anything I loathe more then beggars, it has to be in parties with crappy players when playing with randoms. Crappys as in any of following: Not playing to achieve victory by doing the intended goal, not following lead, unable to do a reasonable job they signed up as, not doing the job they signed up as (que wrong, short(er) wait time, not geared for).

While I agree with all the points you made I would advise not to let it get to you to much its the nature of random grouping and as they say random is random.

I can understand the sentiment, but players I dislike as much, if not more, than these "crappy players" are just people with a bad/negative attitude (even if they do all of the above, which is certainly possible).

In respons to: youkonjack and Interest.
No worries on the part when playing with randoms, I know the part of it being with random players and not to expect "pros-who-know-it-all-and-do-it-right".
Could have been the late houer of writing I went a bit far on the ranting about bad examples of randoms. I could just have been taking the examples from times when I'm not in the mood to play with randoms yet I signed for it. no one to blame there.

I think of it similarly to how I think of these types of people irl. You know these people actually rake in a huge amount of money irl, so I imagine that they can sit there and spam and end up raking in quite a tidy sum. Even if you choose to ignore it, there will be people who don't. I say it's funnier to laugh at the people who fall for it.
Especially
irl.
