10 years ago (yesterday, Jul 9th....I can't believe I actually lost track of the date) I placed the biggest hardship in my life in the hands of the Lord, and he has continued to keep that with Him still.
On July 9, 2002, I began my new life...drug free.
Moreso than just wanting to toot my own horn here, I would just like to let anyone else that my be struggling with addiction that there is hope, and it can be overcome. I fully believe that God picked me up when I couldn't do it for myself, but regardless of your belief, there is a way. Either through strong will, with help from family or friends, or even someone you will never meet from a forum, you
can
beat addiction.
If anyone here has a problem, or knows someone that does,
never lose hope
. And if anyone needs someone to talk to about it, or to pray for them or with them, I would be honored to help.

Very uplifting, Magician. Struggling with addiction is hard. I've never had to deal with it (although, my boyfriend does say I need help with my WoW addiction, but I just wave him off xD), but I've had friends and family go through it, some ending terribly but most ending well. I'm glad your story has a happy ending!

Days since thread = 4
3,650 + 4 = 3,654

Congrats on making 10 years
For those of you that don't know...spreading hope and encouragement that your not alone in your addiction is the basis of AA. I hope to one day claim the same in my own addictions...

Congratulations on 10-years. This was a very nice post and I thank you for sharing your experience as I'm sure it may touch a few people around here who may be struggling themselves in someway.
Keep up the amazing work!
