Is WoW still fun?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide if I want to come back now or wait until Mists releases and the various bugs get worked out?
I know it's my opinion, but I haven't played in months. I miss PvPing with my Rogue, but will it be pointless to resubscribe before Mists? Everything will become obsolete?
I am just eager to try the new Rogue talent tree in PvP.
Thoughts?

I don't really see a point to this thread.
"Fun" is a highly subjective term, and what may be fun for one, can be horribly boring for another. Nobody here but yourself can tell you if the game is fun or not.
but will it be pointless to resubscribe before Mists?
Depends on your goals.
Gearing up at this point is just not worth the hassle, given than in 2 months any gear you have WILL be replaced one way or another. That doesn't mean its not worth it to get back to the game. Since for example you could prepare for mists by farming up gold, consumables, mats if you want to powerlevel a profession for your monk, or in case you want to sell these mats for the new toons who will doubtlessly need a profession ect.
If your focus is pvp, then I can't tell you squat, since I don't do much pvp at all, its just not my cup of tea.
Bottom line, if you miss the game, and feel like you could prepare yourself better for Mists, get back in, if you feel satisfied with the degree of preparation and completion of current content, give it a wait. But none here can tell you if the game is fun or not, that's something for you to decide.

we're pretty much in pre-expansion slowdown. best to wait till the prepatch is going to hit.

I would probably be of this opinion. But hey, if you want to get into stuff for a couple of months (prepare by getting money/supplies, experience Cataclysm content while it's relevant one last time, do some Arenas/RBGs for fun to get a sense of class balance), go ahead. =)

Whoa, this response alone is enough for me resubscribe. Haha, this was awesome. Thanks.

I just did the same thing. I quit Cata for EQ Classic progression servers (LOL i know, but it was a lot of nostalgic fun) in winter 2011 and never looked back until a week ago. IMO the population recently is actually up - tons of people have re-subbed recently after their 4 week affair with the real bummer that was Diablo 3 came to an end. My server (KT-A) is SUPER populated, possibly more people than I've ever seen and I've played at least a tiny bit of every expansion since beta.
There is plenty to do. Raiding is pointless of course, except to grind rep. You can tabard grind old raids to quickly gain factions for Cata factions if you want to get a bunch exalted before the xpac release for titles or patterns or vanity items etc.
Farming and banking gold away to use to make more gold in MoP is the main reason to re-sub now. I had a lot of fun only playing BG weekends a few hrs a week, just farming up a full set of Honor PvP gear and farming PvP currencies to convert into gold via gems, justice/valoe boes, etc. Plus, PvP is probably the most fun you can have playing casually, so why not :) Playing VERY casually and reselling on the AH I've already made almost 40k. The WoW remote is a huge help and a great investment for maximizing AH profits before the new xpac. If you plan on playing MoP, you should definitely farm the AH now. The extra cash at release will be a huge help. If you're smart you can resell new mats and make an absolutely massive pile of gold very quickly!
tl;dr yes, WoW is still fun especially if you're looking to prepare for the new expansion.

Had a chuckle to myself reading this, pretty much why I stopped raiding years ago...

Such a flawed argument.
From that point of view why even get out of bed in the morning, we all die eventually so what's the point?
Grinding at the start of an expansion makes more sense than grinding at the end though.
Upping his gear now means squat unless he hasn't had access to all content. Starting over in MoP so he can work through the content would be my choice.
OP The only reason I could suggest to start earlier than the MoP launch would be to familiarize yourself with the new talents (Which more than likely will be in place beforehand)
Yeah, that makes sense. I'll probably do that. (:

I totally agree with that bolded statement.
I can't even tell you how excited I was for D3 to come out. It seemed to be everything I was looking for in a game. I had so much fun playing D1 and D2, but D3 just wasn't the same. I didn't even really get any sense of nostalgia or anything. It simply felt like I was playing a game that I hardly had any control over. Which is absurd, considering it's meant to be a game totally based on control and customization.
I would have rather they just updated D2 and called it D3, honestly.

Logical fallacies much?

For me and my goals, raiding isn't worth the hassle to get gear you will replace in 2 months.

My happiest times playing WOW were just after Vanilla: people crafting items, questing, low level BG's,running dungeons, raids and not in such a rush to because they were enjoying an adventure.Lol what? Vanilla was all about the end game grind; if you weren't there, you weren't anything in the game.
