Legends always speak of born heroes, those that were destined from the cradle to save their people and their home. Bards sing of men and women decimating entire armies with their bare hands, praise their saving of hundreds of lives in a single evening, and lavish their apparent immortality to any and all who will listen. Heroes are larger than life, fulfilling prophecies that the common man only dreams about hearing for reality. Heroes are those who go forward to earn honor, or die trying.
The truth, on the other hand, is far less romantic. People are never just born heroes, they are men who took a grueling step forward to volunteer their lives and women who felt the burden of duty fall on their shoulders. Each step of their journey is to dance with death, never knowing if the next day will be their last and treating every moment with caution. Heroes are those who survive a conflict where thousands of their faceless peers die.
But they all start somewhere, and no hero gets to where he or she ends on their own. They had mentors, parents, siblings, friends... all the people who would push them forward, unwittingly leading them to their harsh and unrelenting destiny. Their experiences shape them, their training prepares them, and their peers guide them.
Heroes are not born, but forged.
Well hello there everybody. Here's a new Open Roleplay that's been talked about for awhile. A few of us have affectionately dubbed it the 'Vanilla Noob RP' for a number of reasons--one of which is because the RP is attempting to recreate the feeling the beginning of Makorrs have... without the Makorr. So I'll explain the gimmicks this RP comes with.
The RP begins at the very start of Vanilla/Classic WoW. That means that there's been no Cataclysm, no Lich King invasion, no Legion invasion, not even any patches.
You must begin the RP with a character who is effectively 'level one', that means that while they can have some experience fighting, they are no pros, and they are certainly not elite adventurers of awesome.
You will have the opportunity to involve more characters later in the RP--However! The characters you introduce must be around the same experience level as the other characters.
These rules may change in the future, and I'll update this (and give warning in the Open Q&A) when it happens.
Don't g-mode, or be OP, but most importantly, HAVE FUN! :)

The human boy stumbled though the inn; several plates held in his hands as he dropped them off at various tables. He didn't particularly like working as a waiter, but it was his only source of money, and that was made very clear from his face.
Said face was undeniably young looking; still rather rounded and soft. Messy brown hair fell just past his ears, and dark grey eyes stared at and around the area. His skin was faily light, making it clear he wasn't out in the sun too often.

Jeremy entered the inn, sitting heavily at one of the tables. He was young, with short blonde hair and tired, green eyes. He was wearing a flannel shirt, long pants and tough work boots. He dropped a woodcutting axe next to the table and leaned it up against the side, then waited for someone to come by.

"I beg you to reconsider," his mother pleadingly looked into his large, very light gray eyes, stepping between him and his kitbag. The boy - the young man, as he thought of himself, but very probably did not qualify yet - sighed, tugging his ponytail of charcoal black hair nervously, then shook his head and softly place his hands on her fragile shoulders. Looking down on her - at his very gangly six point two, he was almost half again as tall as his short, plump mother - he said, slowly but decisively, "I made my choice, mom. After five years, you managed to move on and find your place in life - it is time for me to do the same."
He gently kissed her on the forehead and walked around her, carefully putting the last remnants of his late father's letters and books into the sack and tying it close. As she watched him, tears welling in her eyes, the boy walked up to the fireplace and carefully removed a large, well-crafted steel bastard sword from a rack over it.
"Fits my hand," he chuckled somewhat nervously. "I'd make grandpa proud if he was still with us."
"Will you return? Tell me you will return!" his mother exclaimed. He sighed again, then said firmly, "I will."
He slung the sack and the scabbbard with the sword across his back and walked an unflinching walk towards the exit.
"Can you at least stay until the wedding?" he heard behind him. He gritted his teeth and growled, more sharply than he wanted to, "No," and ran out of the house.
"Tyr bless you, son," his mother whispered, then slumped onto a chair and began crying.

Andrew looked over. One more person had entered the inn. Good, maybe he wouldn't even want anything. Then he could finally get his break.
He made his way to the Jeremiah. "Can I get you anything sir?"

"Hey guys, jus' wanna thank ya again for lettin' me come along here," Mell said, pushing herself off the edge of the cart. "Ever since dad came down with Murloc Fever, he ain't been up to do it with me, and I ain't really keen on doin' it alone."
The girl, no older than her mid-teens, hit the ground just outside of the Goldshire inn. She took a second to reknot the leather strap that was keeping her
very
red hair into a ponytail before slinging a bow and a quiver of arrows off her shoulder and into the wooden cart and began stretching. She was tanned enough to seem like someone spent a lot of time in the sun and wore a simple cloth shirt and pants with sturdy leather boots.
"No problem, you're always good to have around with that aim of yours," Alexandria chuckled from nearby. The similarly aged, and dressed, girl climbed out of the back of the cart and shook out her shoulder length brown hair. "Defias wouldn't stand a chance."
Mell gave Alex a thumbs up, but didn't have time to speak before Samuel, sitting in the front of the wagon, snorted, "We're definitely lucky that they aren't all that active on the main road anymore. Ma wouldn't let us take the route if they were."
The light, sandy-brown haired boy unharnessed the horses from the cart and led them towards the water trough outside the inn.
"So serious," Mell huffed, before looking over at Alexandria. "Let's get a bite to eat before we keep going, kay?"
"Sounds like a good idea. Cart shouldn't get touched in Goldshire, this place is safe. Hey Sammy, wanna come?" Alex called to her brother.
"Just give me a second to finish taking care of the horses here, and I'll meet you inside," Samuel replied, hiding his annoyance at the nickname.
The two girls, nodding, headed inside and found a table to sit down at.

Bruce at first considered going to the blacksmith to sharpen the sword, but then decided that, since he after all had a sharpening stone of his own, he might as well care after his weapon on his own. Besides, he had already sharpened swords a few times and was confident - well, almost confident - that he would not damage his grandfather's heritage. He paused in front of the inn, rocking on his heavy riding leather boots from toes to heels and back and looking critically on his reflection in the window. Flared dark brown woolen pants going over his boots, waisted with a durable leather belt. Light gray flannel shirt tucked into his pants, its sleeves rolled up all the way to the elbows. And, last but not the least, dark green silk bandana currently tied around his neck.
"I need to get some armor," the boy muttered, sighing and walking inside the inn. He hoped that the bartender could give him a couple of leads, but more importantly, he had missed his breakfast with all the packing and leaving.

The young boy barely older then 16 with short black hair and blue eyes walked threw the streets of the town as a small black wolf followed after him. He was wearing a simple green linen shirt and brown leather pants that was held up by a belt. He eventually made his way towards the edge of town and stopped in front of a house destroyed by a fire that had ran threw it months ago. As he stood there watching at what used to be his home he heard a whimper and looked down to see the wolf looking up at him.
"We had to do this eventually Shadow." He said as he approached the house.

Andrew nodded. "Definately." He agreed before heading off to get the drink.
He noticed more people coming in, and glanced around hoping someone else was working. No such luck, however.
That just figured.

"Oy, kiddo, don' jus' stand around'n drool wegotta bittah work ta do!" Venhildara, a brown haired, lightskinned dwarf(rather very well built for just managing an inn) scowled at him. She moved in a flurry, setting food to cook and then moving finished products around just as she moved down towards the back room, where she spotted another boy sitting on a crate in the corner. She huffed with her hands on her hips, "An' jus' whatta'ya think yer' doin'?"
The boy, dark haired and moderately tanned blinked in surprise, soft looking eyes that contrasted his somewhat stern features, "I- ah-"
"GIt!" She tossed him out to help serve.
Suris Duskshadow

Suris sighed, the memory replaying in her mind again and again.
Adalis scowled at her, 'Your going to do what? Explore the eastern continent? For what? What do you think those mortals could have to offer?"
Suris tensed, "Teacher, they are... Different. I've talked to the ones that come here, they, seem truly different, I think we can learn something from them!"
Adalis glared disaprovingly, "If you think this is such a good idea, to leave before your studies are finished then go, but remember, the goddess is watching."
Suris nodded, and bit back the comment, 'But...Teacher, your studies
are never finished.'
She looked at the gryphon awkwardly, studying it and just a bit afraid to mount it.

"Pa's checklist isn't much this week. We still gotta stock up on hay for the horses, oats, you name it. Also wants to get some cooking stuff for Ma," Alexandria explained after her and Mell sat down. "What about you?"
"Aw, the usual. Need some replacement tools, food for the house," Mell shrugged, "nothing major or anythin'."
"How
is
your dad doing, anyway?" Alex asked.
"Doin' better. Still doesn't want to get outta bed but mum forces him near every mornin'," the other girl laughed. "Still doin' most of the farmwork though, ain't too bad though."
Alexandria nodded absently, waving over Samuel when the boy ended up walking into the inn, "Over here!"

"Got any fresh bread left?" he asked evenly upon walking up to Ven.
