have u been a part of this? or known someone who was into this pyramid system?
i'm not advertising by any means.. but i have this friend, i treat him, he treats me. i don't feel right when people treat me to things, but i've tallied up all of the things he done for me. it would amount up to about 600 dollars vs the things I've done for him.this includes beer, chips, steak, trips to bars, clubs, road trips, buffets, and more things.
anyways, he's in this pyramid type of business and asked me to join. being obligated to help him because i barely shown him any type of good treatment such as using my own money out of my own pocket, I agreed to it. It was a small fee nearly 100 dollars.
Anyways, I'm in here.. I know all of the bads and goods of the system. I went to one of the conventions where they mostly try to "motivate" you? It turns out to be the opposite. They would resort to gorilla tactics to make you feel like you are in need of it. As if without it, you will not be successful. I didn't pay attention to the illusion that they were casting even though I pretended to nod my head in agreement.
All in my head was, I care about my friend and if he needs me to move one up level, I will help him. Then some other stuff comes up, such as training and state licensing.
Well, in the end, I don't want to go too far, but there is some potential to make money, but it has one requirement. You have to resort to gorilla tactics to threaten and scare customers so that they'll sign the contract.
Well anyways, I've got my license and joined up with an agency. The agency won't even give me all of the contracts and books for me to read up on legal issues. They just tell me to fill out these questions for the client, then turn it in.
Even though I'm in it, I still feel like an outsider because I don't have access to everything. Reading contracts are important, but if it's only 4-5 paragraphs long and the rest of the 30 pages are hidden someplace else, I get aggravated.
This is not like college anymore where you have an entire book of information to look at. Only "motivational" brochures and booklets that hold little merit to what you are trying to sell and understand....
So yes, there's a huge void in me because I don't know as many things as I should even after I paid for the services that I deserve. I don't need motivational reasons to get started. I need the hard core facts so that I can sell the product with confidence.
My upline are of no help to me. They are just as clueless but think they know everything.
-____-
Yes, and sometimes, I ask a simple question that may sound confusing to them, and they would instantly say yes because I sound confident that it's an yes even when the answer is a complete no.
So just for anyone who is going to join this type of scheme, beware, because even as a member and a licensed seller, you will still have little access to all of the resources you feel you deserve to have. This is where I'm at. Hopefully it'll change.
So, if you are willing to share, what's ur experience on it.

I have been around / involved in MLM schemes since their huge popularity in the 90's, and they are all a total scam, unless you are able to get in at the top of the pyramid. And even then, they will eventually come crashing down.
I personally have never made any real money with any of them, but I had a friend in the early 90's that got in at the top of a new "company", and for several years, he made a killing. But, the product they were marketing was Digital Satellite Systems for what eventually became Dish Network. Yep...Dish Network started off using MLM as one of their major marketing strategies.
Here is the way I look at it. If the product or service you are trying to sell is overpriced, unwanted, or available for less money elsewhere, chances are, you are not going to see much success. Most MLM people end up exactly where your "friend" was......using family and friends to move them "up, or buy their products.

Get out. My only advice is get out. The money you spend is barely going to help your friend at all, and it's going to just about all go to the company. And the longer he stays in because he has some kind of hope that it's going to pan out, the more money he's going to spend and the more time he's going to waste when he could be working a job and making real money. The longer you encourage him, the more you're hurting him.
