I think this means the forums aren't working properly at the time. I'd try again in about 10-20 minutes.
If you still get it, try clearing your
browser's cache.

Well from what I can tell the site in general is just giving the errors out. Keep trying. It should work eventually.

I'm having the same error and when I log into the game I get a latency of 1500! every thing is frozen items disapering, instance portals gone, beds floating in midair chat box wont work, The game is bugging like crazy! Ugg so much for a simple mage weave farming trip XP i'm going to go play carnival tycoon for a while. wow will probably be working again in an hour or so.

I think that's a completely different issue. Try lowering your settings and enabling triple buffering.

I know this is an old topic but I recently discovered I had this same issue. It's obviously not a server side issue because people were posting on the forum as I was continuously attempting to post a reply to a thread. So I found this simple and easy post that fixed it for me on pcsupport.
Since I cannot post links I'll just simply list out the steps they suggest you try:
Clear your browser's cache
Delete your browser's cookies
Troubleshoot as a 504 Gateway Timeout error
They suggest a few other things to try but my understanding is these things will not help you fix your side of the issue. I completed the first two and viola, success.
So for those of you finding yourself suffering as we have, try this and see if that helps.

Here it is 3 years later, and this is still a problem.
I can't 'write' to Blizzard forums or use RAH 50% of the time.
I've done all the suggested browser fix's multiple times.
The game is usually ok.
Will have to see what the 504 Gateway Timeout error is?
I do get to the blizzard server because I'm getting error messages back from it. The 500 Internal Server message is coming from Blizzard.com
specifically 500 Internal Server Error error ID VCTIN.
So, that makes me a little skeptical about pushing all the responsibility back on me?
edit: researching this error message yields that it is a server side time out that can be caused by several problems.
edit2: re: the above response about the 504 Gateway error: My research comes up with:
quote: Generally it is a back-end issue where a gateway or proxy server doesn’t get a response from the upstream server, usually because the upstream server is down. After waiting a while, the gateway server will return a “504 gateway time-out” error. Since it is a server side problem, there isn’t really anything you can do if you are just trying to access a website.

After playing with the error all day trying to sell some items in RAH I switched from using Chrome as my browser to using IE, and RAH sold an item immediately. Maybe it was just luck, or a random event... but RAH seems to be working now.
fyi, I tried putting us.battle.net in my security trusted sites, and that didn't seem to help. using IE did.
