My friends however have missed entire days of work soley by hitting the snooze button for 8+ hours.
Seriously? A whole day of work? Don't get me wrong I love to sleep in as much as anybody, but after 2-3 snoozes, it's time to get up. But I also despise being late to work.
As far as hating my alarm....seeing as how I use my Android and I can set it to an unlimited amount of sounds; changing it as I please... no I don't hate it.

I got a neat little program that wakes up my computer from "sleep mode", opens up Itunes and start a song I chose the day before.

I hate waking up just before the alarm goes off. Waking up to the actually alarm isn't too bad.

i actually like waking up just before the alarm goes off. sorta like a ..AHA I BEAT YOU MUH FUH! thing
but my dads blackberry alarm sound. The particular tone he chose. For some reason i hate it. Not cause it kept waking me up (the sound would travel through the corridors) but because it has a set of tones that put me on edge.

Does anyone else hate their alarm so much that they wake up a minute before it goes off just to make sure they dont hear it. I am the odd one out even in basic when drill sergeant would come to yell at us for wake up call my feet would be on the floor the second he was through the door.

In old days, before GPS and such, ships had to navigate the waters by measuring the speed of water passing with a knotted rope. They had to keep time with an hourglass, that had to be monitored closely, turned precisely, and kept track of. If someone didn't count the knots in the rope correctly, or if someone forgot to turn the hourglass, then a ship could go off course. If that happened it could pass by the port it was aiming to land in by hundreds of miles. If it got lost, it could end up unable to find land, fresh water, and food in time, and people could starve to death. If one person made a mistake, many people could die. The level of discipline that was maintained was impeccable.
Sometimes, I wish I lived in days like that, when people were more self reliant and reliable. I miss the days of discipline, where people didn't spend all day in bed. I think sometimes I was born in the wrong era, a time when tolerance extends beyond morality, or even common sense.

You remind me of
Colonel Hathi
so much...... xD
(which isn't necessarily a "bad" thing, given how badass Hathi is.)

I was a Sergeant, not a Colonel.
