I took a break when D3 came out - came back about a month ago.
It's been a fairly quiet period for our guild, we mostly do old raid runs and guild achievement runs once a week, just to keep some guild activity up.
The Guild bank is mostly empty and the officers are just doing behind the scene preparation for Mist for now. In short nothing really shiny and sparky.
On a personal level, I'm just doing quests on alts to get some change. When I'm not questing, I'm mostly looking for Transmog gear for my alts, or doing the occasional Stonecore solo runs for the mount.
A few Starcraft 2 games in between that if I'm in the mood.

I have all the VP and CP gear i need,so i'm going to make sure i get to the 4000 mark for both of them to put me as far ahead as possible when MoP launches.
I'm also collecting mats for proffs that still have yellow/green recipes to try and get a bit of a head start there as well

I havent start preparing yet, but im going to:
* Try and auction off old mats that clog up my bankslots on all chars
* Vendor excess gear, like tank set, healing set, transmog pieces ill never use, pvp sets (not on main)
* Clean and organize my bankslots on all chars
* Buy some cheap low level enchants to use on levelling gear
* farm some healing and golemblood pots
* farm some crocolisk so i can have some stacks of "beer basted crokolisk"
* Try and get some pvp-achievs
* Shuffle around gold so i have most of it on one char, leaving the rest with a couple of hundred.
* Think hard about who is going to be main in MoP warr or dk

I'm.................not?
xD seriously, MoP is like a new beginning for wow, why over-stress myself with preparations and crap like that? did I had any preparation when I began playing all those years ago? no, I just rolled with it, and winged it as I went along.
The only preparation I've made is reserve a name for my future monk (MingXiao) but other than that, I'll just wing it, and improvise as I go along. This means I haven't stocked up on pots, consumables, mats, or money at all. I just played my game as usual, and now that my prepaid time ran out, I'm just chilling taking a hiatus from wow till the pre-MoP patch is released.
If anything, if it counts as preparation, once the pre-MoP patch is released I plan to level a warlock to 85 to prepare myself for the new expansion (Warlock is the one class I have left that haven't leveled to 85, I'm waiting for the system's patch that will add their glorious revamp to level one, because I wanna experience the joy of being in demon-form indefinitely.)

I probably have to sanitize my main's inventory - despite 4x26 bags and the bank all 24s, and even despite the 80 (fully used) Void Storage slots, I only have around 10-14 free inventory slots on average :P Take away ~6 slots for Cata-level consumables, that's still not much considering what I noticed on the beta - the different cooking ingredients alone! Sure, there's sending such stuff to a bank char regularily, but certain items are BoP... and I
need
to keep
Shushen's Spittoon
etc. :P

Mainly just trying to clear up a few open achievments. I have been able to get a few alts into DS pugs and get Destoyer's End on all but my Druid.
I have been trying to organize a few old school achievment runs, but not had much luck. My guild is on life support at the moment, so pugging has been the only option. And it never fails, as easy as some of the older raid achievments are, you can't seem to get people to concentrate, and someone will screw it up.
I tried to get into transmog mode, but I just couldn't stay focused on it. Even when I got my toons to start looking like I wanted, I realized that in the game environment, I really couldn't tell much of a difference. They look cool at the character selection screen, but they just blend in with the crowd in game. With the amount of time and effort getting a good looking set took, it just wasn't worth it...for me.
I have been trying to gather up profession mats, hoping for a bug run on Pandas wanting to powerlevel professions, but I have scaled back on that as well, because I know 2000 other people are doing the same, so I have a feeling prices may drop instead of climb.

Trying to sell a majority of the items I've been gathering...
I might need to dump some currency too before long.

Definitely things I need to do. What I am doing, however, is just leveling up my alts on Hyjal to try and get them to 85 before MoP hits.
They are 85, 85, 83, 80, 30, 23, and 20.
Cheers.

I am desperately and feverishly trying to get rid of stuff. I have a truly obscene number of storage slots and when I look over them I am still finding old quest items that are now vendor trash.
I have one more toon to drag to 85 (currently at 60), 2 toons to power level professions on, 2 or 3 to get to profession cap, a bit more rep grinding to finish, more farming to do (herbs, ore, and cloth), continue stocking up on bags and glyphs, and I have to decide my toon order of levelling. I am torn between levelling my gatherer or one of my JCs or Tailors first.

I have prepared for professions. I have 15-20 skillups worth of mats for every profession ready to go. Might as well get the skillups with cheap mats.
The thing I am grinding right now is trying to get the stupid clockwork gnome pet from Dwarf archeology. My goal is to have 3 rares of every species when MoP starts. I have 2 from mechical ( darkmoon tonk and zep), and 0 from humanoids, but otherwise done.
That is really it. After that I am just going to try to clean up some vanilla reps and achieves.
