What characters/specs are likely to use these items?
Which one is better for each class/spec?

If you mean the Heirloom item; Enhance shamans, Rogues, Windwalker monks for the mace.
Sword for Rogues as well, and guess it would be alright for the prot warriors and paladins.
Edit: Also, this is a data base, could have looked up both items and see it in the comments for which classes are better to use what.

What makes Mcgowan's better than Dal'Rend's for shamans and monks? Shouldn't monks use a staff anyway?
Why would prot warriors/paladins use Dal'rend's? Shouldn't they be using Bloodsoaked Skullforge Reaver?
Are rogues better off with the mace or the sword?

Well shamans can't use swords. Not too sure about monks though so the hammer is the best option for them by default.
And yes, tanks should be using the reaver but it's not cheap to get heirloom items (relatively speaking) and there's a decent sword that's viable for tanking just sitting in the bank...

Hinting isn't solid enough to say DW is the way to go. Right now the numbers just aren't solid enough to say without a doubt that DW is superior.
Um...what? It was fairly clear in Beta that you got more bang for your buck DW as a Windwalker then using a two hander.

So the debate must continue. :p

No one has said that; but the mace is a little better since it also has Haste on it in addition to Crit and Agility.

Did you even read what I wrote? Here's the exact quote I wrote.

I said SHAMANS can't use swords and I wasn't certain about monks.

Um...I was in beta? At best it's slightly above using a two hander.
/shrug Whatever; I found I did more damage dual wielding, and I'll keep on doing that when it comes to live.

Allow me to clarify.
On each of the two realms that I frequent, I have a brand spanking new rogue named Blackbaron. He's eventually going to get Stained Shadowcraft heirlooms and wield a Balanced Heartseeker in his off-hand. I want to know which weapon he should wield in his main.

I would almost certainly say the mace is probably the better idea, then (unless you are a Gnome)
