Stuck in traffic, how to kill the boredom.

As the title says, I'm wondering if any of you here who work and drive and are super-unlucky like me and plenty of other people living in this lovely city
(Sydney, Australia)
get stuck in traffic for a long amount of time. Personally it takes me around one hour and a half to get home and I'm crawling...
So to the point, any ideas how to spend that hour and a half and not waste it?
I tried listening to Audiobooks but they can get really expensive, tried listening to some talks on YouTube but that can lagg like crazy depending on where you are, I cleaned the inside of my car once and now it's spotless.
I know this is a little bit of a
first world problem
but I'd like to know if there are any of you out there who share my pain :)

Swear loudly and endlessly and lay on your horn that will make time fly.
Haha, that happens sometimes.. especially on Wednesdays. I can't figure out why Wednesdays maybe because it's a hump day but seriously everyones driving is terrible on that day.

You could use vid2mp3 or something similar and download lectures/talks?

one thing that grinds my gear.
i have 6 radio stations preset to all 6 of my buttons.
this happens too often.
all 6 of those stations are doing commercials, and for 3 minutes straight at the same exact time.
there has to be some conspiracy thing happening. i can't hide from ads. =(

I know CityRail isn't the most amazing train service in Australia (Queensland Rail takes that title hands down), but I'm assuming you live at Dundas - which is on a train line. Seriously, take the train. It would be way cheaper (like
way
cheaper) and it'd probably only take you 45 minutes from the city. You could read a book or a newspaper rather than go bald and grey trying to deal with Sydney traffic and wasting fuel.
You could either catch the train to Clyde and then change for a train to the city, or just drive to Clyde and train it from there.

Thanks for those podcasts DoctorLore I havent actually ever downloaded one and keep forgetting to do so. I'll get some today for sure, great idea!
Donnmurph I wish I could catch a train but there is not a train station anywhere near where I work. Its about 15/20 minutes outside of CBD (near the airport) and the nearest train station is 25 minute walk... sucks. I guess I'll be still driving :/ but now listening to podcasts as well (hopefully). :D
And what's this
"OP OP OP OP OPOP OPPA GANGNAM STYYYLLE"
I don't really get that.

I don't consider 25 minutes a very long walk, but then I lost my licence for 3 years so I'm very conditioned to walking and catching trains.

1) Write "Help me!" in red on your back window
2) Wait for somebody to pull up next to you then franticly look behind you with a terrified expression on your face, and then back at the light.
3) Eat food that requires silverware.
4) Wait for somebody to pull up next to you, grin at them, then rev your engine.

Donny - I'm assuming you've never been to Dundas station. It's serviced by a single train that goes up and down the one line, and if you miss it, you're waiting 45 minutes before it's heading in the right direction again.
Dundaz - I didn't realise you were an Australian! One option is to take one of the metro-buses into the city, then a bus out to Mascot / Green Square / wherever it is that you're working.
Alternatively, try finding a different route - Victoria Rd, Parramatta Rd and M5 are all jammed up, but there are quite a number of smaller roads that run parallel that you can follow instead.

Squishalot, yes from Sydney :) and I agree, Dundas station is a horrible station and the train line is just shockers isnt it? I usualy travel to work at 5:30am and really dont have time to catch 3 different trains just to get to the city :P I found a better way to and from work now so kind of happier and am listening to all sort of podcasts so the time goes quicker. Does make me think.. if only I could have that hour and a half on WoW instead of driving..
What's everyones favourite WoW podcast?
