has pvp across realms broken due to unfair changes to classes, or overpowering cc abilitys?
i for one have seen it for myself, battlegrounds have become a farce compared to what they were, EVERY match ends the same way. with one side drastically overpowering the other side. its usually an entire team has every advantage and others have very little choice in the mater and i have a few things id like to address.
Ive come to the conclusion that due to recent changes vie seen in 5.0.3 pvp is broken, not in the usual sense of "my toon aint no gud no more"(tho i believe some classes got overlooked) after patch but in a fundamental way imperative to even play in bgs. and that is what ive come to talk about.
its simple its the healers. healers have in the past been primarily a support roll in dungeons and bgs and arenas. in my time viewing the changes in the patch ive come to see a very drastic change in how healers are used. healers now have a very strong offense when compared to early archetypes, with a damage output rivaling pure dps classes and specs. in dungeons healers doing more damage then geared dpsers is truly a failing on blizzards part. allowing healing classes comparable ability's in damage dealing areas of the game is a gross overlook in team building and fair play. coupled with the way some classes are not allowed to heal at all or even at reduced ability is a strong advantage healers have over other classes/specs. and the growing trend of healers doing dps roles in dungions and raids is a huge flag in my book. other things are a factor i know as well, such as the healers ability to solo quests without the help of others. but the game is based strongly on the rolls of others to achieve a balanced play, and giving a single "role" the ability to blur the lines in every direction is a truly game breaking change. healers doing a dps roll (or tank) and a healing role is backwards to the changes bizz has made so far, such as adding the guardian spec for druids. in doing that they are clearly stating that the roles shud not "blur" into others. giving the tools of other roles to healers is something i feel needs to be addressed for the fairness of the game as well as the how fun it is.
other things i feel need to be addressed is the cc ability of classes in bgs, more than id like to admit the cc ability in bgs have gotten more annoying and more prolific, often in bgs its common to have no control over your character at all for over 10 seconds, and all ability's to mitigate them are failing short along with the removal of things that reduce these things is really an issue that effects how "fun" battlegrounds have become. ive played for years and im no stranger to death in a bg, but dieing is only 1/2 the issue, with survivability of specific toons being drastically low, death happens alot. but feeling like you contribute to the whole and being an active member is crucial to the game as well. never staying alive more than a few moments when up against any opposition is disheartening (and common now), but not allowing people to even play for long stretches of time makes it not even fun. i often times find that pvp trinkets do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP. having the effects simply reapplied and doing nothing to help your character except filling a equipment slot that cud be better put to use. pvp trinks removing effects that cc you once every 2 mins is bogus when cc ability's often have cool down timers in ranges of 20-40 seconds and perhaps multiples on a single toon.
in short pvp isn't fun any more, and i feel that tho blizz wants a more fun and even game for questing and dungeons, the unfair advantages given to other "favored" classes make the pvp a joke and is purely broken and unmanageable. i look forward to seeing your thots and comments!

However, because it is a major content patch that alters huge portions of the game, expect addons to stop working, for a start (there are many updates available that I highly recommend downloading now). In addition, with changes like the resistance removal, raiding is going to be very rough, so be careful of that as well.
Finally, keep in mind this is a pre-patch and while it might have everything up to the current beta build, there will likely be some significant imbalance whether it's between classes, content, or something else entirely

I've had a ton close matches and I've found the dps on my healer diminished, instead I find dps who have boosted self heals while I get blasted down before I can even pop a CD.
Overall I think it is about the same, mostly bad teams playing bad getting owned.

I never thought I would have to quote my own blog for truth, but I just did....
i have expected to get a reply close to mr advertise my own blog up der, and in short there was time and testing done prior to going live, and with alot of ppl working on this job, to think that such a game breaking " imbalance" went un-notused is laughable, and if this is the way it was done in beta blizz has truly given up and have no love for the pvp aspect of the game.this was seen far off and im sure ppl at blizz seen that cc have gotten more prolific and changes needed to be made, as well as the healers taking on the roles of other classes. if it is as u say and this is the way of things in beta i think mop is gonna be a very sad time for pvpers. and the very fact that thing were done in this fashion,( to release a 1/2 finished product in hopes of fixing it later) shows that they dont realy take pvp seriously and have more important things to do instead of tackling issues they seen coming miles away.

What confuses me is.at the end of wrath/start of cata the talent trees were changed so that each chosen spec was locked into that tree until nearly all the points were spent,as they wanted to get away from the multi role builds where you'd have a bit of what you fancy from the differen't trees.
Now with the release of patch 5.0.4 we've got ret pallys reduced to a some sort of support class,and holy pallys turned into an unstoppable killing machine.I wish they would pick a formula and stick with it,so at least you know where you stand.Not sitting there watching the patch download with fingers crossed hoping your favourite class/roll hasn't been changed beyond all recognition

All of this testing was done for level 90. Balancing level 85 content around level 90 abilities and talents was not promised. The next twenty-two days will have zero PvP balance, and that's what always happens between expansions.

With these new pvp trinkets some of these classes just cant be taken down healer being one of them, even with several high dps on them.you can forget trying to quest on war mode unless you got a 5 man dungeon team and a good healer with you.
