Old.wowhead is a very basic shell of things from the past. While it does have lots of information about old level zones, and how things were in the past, its mostly listed as a site of historical preservation. If things needed to be changed on the live site because of bugs or errors, chances are its not rolled back to the old site. There is really no need.
While I'm sure some people do find the old information of value, those people are probably playing on private servers. Private servers go against Blizzards ToS and EULA, and as such we really can't have discussion about them on the forums, or even begin to support their community.
As an Official fan site, recognized by blizzard as such, and referred to by their Game Masters; Wowhead will always spend its resources and development time in supporting the live version of the game, and any upcoming features. It's a full time job for the Staff members here, and they work very hard in meeting the changes that are constantly happening so that the players of the game can get the most good from our site.
Cheers,

thank you, that was more of the reply i was looking for. its unfortunate you guys dont really want to worry about it, but i understand where youre coming from. ill continue to make due with what im given. :)
I don't think it's unfortunate. People who play on private servers are playing on pirated copywrite material, and the people hosting them are breaking the law. I understand that if you can't afford the game you might feel the need to do so, but to be annoyed that legitimate websites who promote legitimate businesses don't take the time to make improvements specifically to cater to people who only need them because they're using stolen software is kind of an inflated sense of entitlement, don't you think?
It's like stealing something from a store, and then being upset that they won't give you the service contract that they give to the people who actually bought it.

i asked a question, received my answer (no), and was satisfied. what part of that is entitlement?
The part where you want the admins to do extra work to provide information that's only of interest to people who play on illegal servers.
