So, I'm trying to set up a real info-hud for my Druid's Guardian spec this time around. To do this, my requirements include: (1) augmenting but not altering my current unit frames; (2) displaying my health and power bar next to the other information.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm at now. This is more or less exactly what I want...
Minus some layout/ordering tweaks I'm iterating through.

The problem is the
way
I'm getting those health and power bars there. I'm actually loading up a full blown HUD addon and turning off everything but that. Yeah, I just threw up in my mouth a little, too.
Is anyone aware of an existing addon that I can use to
just
show those two things and not load any other cruft? I just want a flat texture (or texture from SharedMedia), I need it to be able to fill vertically, I don't need any numeric display.
I guess I'm ultimately prepared to just code it myself, but I'd prefer to just drop something in. While typing this I thought of some of those
really
open-ended unit frame addons that require you to do a crap-ton of set-up work. Maybe one of those would work...

I suppose you could always pull nfUnitFrames from my page, erase all the config files except player.lua, and then go and erase everything in the config besides health/power bars and change the size values. It would give you a very lightweight approach, but it's not really a
simple
approach because you'll have to dig around Lua a bit.
(Make sure to pull in nfWidget and nfCoreLib, and if you don't pull in nfMedia, pull out any references to it in the config.)

Digging around I don't mind at all. Learning what I need to hook and how textures work and all that stuff in such a way that I can use that knowledge to write something for the first time -- that is something I'd like to avoid.
I'll see who else replies to this and definitely do that if there aren't any better options. I promise I won't package it up with my name and post it to Curse
:)

I use the MIT license for a reason. Go ahead and repackage it. Just don't remove the license.
