How do I start questing in a new zone?

Return to board index

While leveling in Azeroth, I had the luxury of using the "Warchief's Command" quest line. The sad thing is, these don't exist for Outland. I just finished Zangarmarsh (level 64) and I want to start questing in Nagrand. How would I find the quest chain for Nagrand or any zone for that matter, as I don't want to be too dependent on Warchief's Command anymore.
I can't just fly into the town, because if I do a chain quest which leads up to the town, then I get a lot more quests unlocked.
Some of you may understand what I'm talking about, please help me out :D

For Outland, quests to other zones are bundled in with all the other quests in main quest hubs in each zone.
If you want to find a quest to a new zone, go to these hubs, take every quest and look in your quest log. If you see one that's in a different zone, delete the rest and do that one. If not, check another hub in the zone and do the same thing.
For Zangarmarsh, I believe the quest for Nagrand is either in the west-most troll fort for Horde and the the Broken outpost near the entrance to Blade's Edge for Alliance. Sorry if I'm wrong but it's been a while.

That is the beauty (for some), and the beast (for others) of pre-cata questing.
You don't have a board telling you where to go, and a chain of quests to do. Just fly to Nagrand. There are few different quest points there to
choose
from (imagine that...choice, not forced, linear progression).
You can hit Garadar (assuming Horde...if you are Alliance..well, you picked the wrong side) and go from there. Or you can stop by Helmet Nessingwary and go on a beast killing spree. There are also several other "mini-hubs" that you will encounter in Nagrand....gathering for the Consortium, kickin some Gron butt....the route you take is up to you.

You are mostly out of luck when it comes to Warchief's Command until Cataclysm areas.
However, from memory, most Outland and Northrend quest hubs will give you a breadcrumb quest that will send you to the next zone as soon as you hit the right level. That in itself act as a pseudo WC.

As someone has said, the Outlands breadcrumb quests are at the previous zone's quest hubs. They are mostly only good for a "go see X at camp Y" and a single quest completion, so if you aren't going for Loremaster there is no need for these. You can just go along to the next zone and wade in at the main quest hub if you are the appropriate level.
In your specific situation, though, the reason you haven't been given the breadcrumb quest for Nagrand is that you aren't 65 yet.

To get the breadcrumb to Nagrand, I believe you have to be level 65.

There's choice in Cat questing, too... and still too much of it, I'd say. Northern Barrens and Hinterlands are particularly nasty, often loading me down with ~8 quests at a time with no idea what order I should do them in.
Tell me... what quest comes immediately after Heroes of the Horde? Wait, there are a half-dozen quests to do once I get to Tarren Mill, and no specific order in which they're supposed to be done? OMG NO WAI.

Each Outland zone has a quest that sends you to the next; Zangarmarsh has ones for Blades Edge Mountain, Nagrand and Terrokar.
