CRZ and World PVP?

We all know cross-realm zones are buggy as hell right now. Having general chat appear doubled or tripled up is only the best of it. Some people are spontaneously dying, being disconnected or being dismounted upon zoning, or even while questing in a CRZ. But these bugs aside, how do you guys view the feature so far? Are you hopeful for the day when the bugs are ironed out?
I've been leveling 2 alts for the last few months. As anyone knows, even on high population realms (mine is one of the highest population, with nearly 150k players) low-level zones are totally deserted. It's not uncommon to be the only person in a zone at your level. This isn't like I remember vanilla being, where low-level zones may not have been crowded, but there was always somebody around to fight if you looked for it.
Since patch 5.0, being out in the world, I have yet to go more than 2 hours without running into an enemy while questing. In some cases I've even run into multiple enemies back to back. It's been giving me the chance to brush up on my PvP skills on alts as I level the way I used to in vanilla. It reminds me of the reason I rolled on a PvP server to begin with: that little edge of difficulty that you can run into an enemy at any point, and pretty much be forced into competitive play.
I've read on some other forums that people have been seeing even larger scale world PvP happening. People have mentioned certain areas of the world (like the Molten Front, Area 52, and major quest hubs of nearly all levels) breaking down into all-out slaughterfests as 20-40 of each faction come to join in on the fun. I haven't seen anything like that yet, but the promise that that kind of world PvP may be returning is great.
How have you guys been experiencing cross-realm zones? Any upturn in world PvP on your zones? Do you think it may make a comeback of at least a moderate scope?
(By the way, I'm on Korgath US, on the Vengeance battlegroup. Post your realm if you have any strong opinion on how it's turning out there.)

It's a double-edged blade for me. I love 60 vs 60 world PvP, but I'm not too fond of 3 on 1 when I'm trying to grind rep and a small group of campers comes along and makes a meal out of me.
I play on Mal'Ganis US (PvP), which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 99:1 H to A ratio. I rolled there not because I wanted to experience some world PvP, but because of the PvE progression and the server's proximity to my home. I knew I would come across enemies every now and again, but it was something I was willing to put up with. Now I run into enemies every day while doing my rep grinds.
Argent Tournament dailies almost always result in a death or two (or a win or two depending on my luck), but for some reason everyone doing Netherwing dailies pretty much leaves the other faction alone. Go figure.
Overall, I like CRZ just a bit more than I dislike it.

Last night I got the best surprise I've had in ages in WoW. I portalled to Blasted Lands so I could level cooking in Outland and dropped right in the middle of a 30 v 30 (ish) battle royale in front of the Dark Portal.
I've been playing since Vanilla and have never seen that many players scrapping in one place outside of AV.
Horde started off creaming us, then someone got a raid together and people started shouting for invites. We all grouped up on top of the portal, shouted at each other a bit, made a few abortive forays and then eventually all dropped down en masse, pushed them back up the hill, killing NPCs as we went and wiped them out until we're all left wondering around going 'Did we win?'
Utter, utter madness and twenty of the funnest minutes I've had in WoW in ages.
So Cross Realm zones get a massive thumbs up from me. Long may they continue.
FYI: this was on Spinebreaker EU, a PVE server.

Good to hear. I did have some interesting experiences with the bugs. I dinged 80 last night and went to Mt Hyjal, only to find that all NPCs and mobs in the zone were phased out. So the main town was pretty much a Horde vs Alliance deathmatch. While I really just wanted to quest, I didn't give up the opportunity for some fun.
The more I play out in the world in 5.0, the stronger the feeling I get that some semblance of world PvP is coming back.

I've just experienced the exact same thing, but for about an hour or so (and I believe it started long before I joined, and will continue on since I left). The Horde had massed around the zone in point from the portals in Stormwind/Orgrimmar and we were just wiping out any Alliance who popped up. At somepoint they must have grouped up, and we then had huge running battles, with wave after wave of both Alliance and Horde clashing at the edge of the crater. It was fantastic!

World PvP using cross realm contested zones may be the single reason I play WoW again.
I remember going for hrs on end PvPing while trying to quest in STV was hell. You couldnt avoid pvp if your life depended on it there. From all the PvP, itd take me a few days to get a few lvls, lol. And I loved every second of it.

I just had some hilarious cross realm PvP fighting over Sha of Anger. Apparently a lot of people had friends in high places.
