New rare tames impressions

Hi all,
The new taming system for rares is that first we must locate the beast's tracks before uncovering and taming. What are your impressions of this system?
I love it, and here is why in a lovely clear format :P
Pros
- Puts more challenge into tames, no longer is it a waiting game, we hunters now have to live up to our names, and hunt
- Prevents some moron of any other class from camping it and killing it "for the lulz" (this happened to me multiple times with Karoma QQ)
- I find it a lot more fun to have to work harder for a tame, rather than just sit around until it appears.
Cons
- Still possible for another class to kill once uncovered (this happened to someone I know when she went for Savage, she was displeased to say the least)
- Tracks are incredibly hard to follow, and it is actually more favorable to have low graphics to have more chance, which to me seems slightly backwards.
I would love to see what you guys think about this new system and any stories you might have of taming one of the new beasts and the trail you had to follow. :)

You should probably add the tracks are bugged atm. I was hunting for Portent and discovered his track visuals are actually the reverse of the direction he was actually moving...
Pissed me off. I wasted a good hour.
Edit: As for killability, Blizzard should really just make them impossible to kill. It's not hard to do.

I was told by another hunter friend of mine they were backwards before I started so I presumed it was the way it was supposed to be, silly me >.<
As for the killability, that is a good plan, I honestly never thought of just making them unkillable :) unfortunately, I bet Blizz won't either so that challenge will stay as far I can see :/

The one thing good about it being phased you have more control over when to tame.
My hunter(level 88) found Savage but there were 2 of us with tracks that were over lapping. My flare found the pet first. The other hunter(level 90) tried to ninja tame it and we ended up killing it. I cursed him out since it was my flare that found him. He couldn't comprehend that because I found it, he should show me some respect and let me tame.
Then the next night I went back and succesfully found and tamed him.
My question is can another hunter's flare uncover someone else's pet tracks?

If you place "Hunter's Mark" on the rare, then people can't see it, same thing happens with your flare. All hunters can see the tracks.
Always place "Hunters Mark" on the pet before you start to "Tame" this way that rare will not be able to be ninja'd while your flare is on cooldown for whatever reason you can't attack it / Tame at that point in time. Reasons for this "Say you get stuck in combat". While "Hunter's Mark" is active on it, the rare will not go stealth / invisible. Makes it semi easy to find it, since you can then use /target .
Always follow the tracks backwards, once they start to despawn it means its the end of the trail. Unless its double backing on itself, but then it will leave a foot print a couple of seconds later.
If this isn't the case, & they happen to vanish, you have to be quick to look for the next one. If you can't find any tracks between a 40yard radius it means its already rather far away from that location you first saw the foot print.
This search engine has some rather detailed information about where the set paths / destination, these new rares follow. So always check the path it follows before trying to hunt for them. This way you can kinda judge where the rare pet could actually be located. The tracks last about 10minutes, so if they vanish then its going to be at the other end of the path it follows.
Also i have noticed that after i have tamed a rare pet the tracks don't despawn straight away.
