Hi all,
Need to ask a n00b question.
I finally decided to forsake my warlock and try out a BM hunter for MoP (don't ask me why lol)-- but I'm having a lot of trouble with my pet taking aggro. This then garners tank aggro, yelling at me to turn my 'taunt' off. As far as I was aware ferocity doesn't -have- a taunt, so what am I doing wrong?
Please help! I don't want to be a huntard for MoP!
Cheers big ears..

A good idea is to have Grwol on the pet action nar so you can switch it off when you do stuff with a tank, and on when you are soloing. It also allows you to sacrifice your pet taking damage instead of the healer if the tank is incapacitated or otherwise lose aggro (dies), by quickly clicking it. Even a ferocity pet tanking is preferable to a healer tanking.

great advice - this has saved us a few times and allowed boss kills when the tank went down with only a few percent to go on the boss . It gives you a vital few seconds to either complete the kill or runn away if you can

First of all, welcome to the hunter side of wow. Don't get discouraged by the amount of people that will most likely call you a "Huntard" you will prove them wrong with time.
Anyways, about the problem with your pet getting aggro from tanks in dungeons, it is most likely a problem that mast hunters make: never disable Growl. This ability makes your pet take the enemy its attacking and
force it to attack your pet no matter what
. This is very bad, sense as a BM hunter about half your dps comes from your pet, if it takes aggro from something like a boss it'll die. Not good. To disable Growl you want to first go to your spell book, and on the bottom of the spell book ui there is a tab called "Pet" please go to that and find the ability called growl. Now drag the growl icon into your pet bar (the same as a warlock pet bar) and make sure that is does not have the glowing border around it. If the icon has the glowing border around it right click on it to disable it. Now your problem should be fixed.
Like mentioned in above post, having growl on your action bar is extreamally useful in certain raid situations. Lastly growl should always be used while questing, but almost never, unless pre-planned with your group, while in a dungeon/raid.
-MuffinRobot, your favorite Huntard.
