Brewmaster weapon speed

For a brewmaster monk, using a two hander, would a faster (2.9ish) or a slower (3.5ish) weapon be preferred? Or is weapon speed a factor at all for our tanking?

It does not matter at all. The generation of Elusive Brew stacks is always adjusted to be consistent, and our attacks do not benefit from slow weapons.

Thank you. Exactly what I wanted to know.

You don't even have to use 2-handers. Dual Wielding is viable as well.

my question is though (sorry) which is the better option?

Depends on the weapons and their stats. 2 handers have more stats overall and dual wielding does more damage. The differences are small. The best weapon you can get pre-raid in my opinion is
Snowdrift's Bladed Staff
, but I am currently using
Ka'eng, Breath of the Shadow
&
Ner'onok's Razor Katar
and I am fine. That damned staff never drops.

I could name a couple of "also pretty nice" weapons, the point was saying which one is the best. Also, that spear is hard to get? I got it quite a long time ago, almost as soon as I hit 600 Archaeology.

It does factor into RNG, though.
I got it as my first rare Panda combine (fourth combine total? after starting to survey in JF) but my guildleader didn't get it for over a week - more than 25 combines.
The same could be said for any Archaeology combine, though, as I'm still waiting on the Clockwork Gnome :(

1% of free Expertise is nothing to scoff at, but it might be hard to keep up a set of axes with a good item level. Do not use low level axes if you have access to higher level weapons.
