Give me tips on how to gear my alt!

I recently dinged 90 with my second character which is kinda niete. But i find myself having a issue with getting it reasonably geared.
I do dailies on my main, dont get me wrong, i love the MoP dailies - but there are just so many factions and it will take a loong time to get exalted with them all. I also do dungeons, scenarios, pvp, raidfinder and plan to raid with it. So getting my main geared for both pve and pvp is no problem.
But then there is my dk-alt. I dont really wanna do all dailies a second time, i dont wanna farm a gazillion 5mans, i just wanna do some bgs, maybe run around solo some old raids, look for rare battle pets, troll the trade channel.
Without rep with the various factions, i cant buy valor gear. I cant convert valor to conquest (thats what ticking me off a bit - if i do arena this season, i wanna go with my main, not my alt).
I would have loved to be able to convert valor to conquest to gear the alt up, as i cant really farm random bgs for all those conquest points on an alt, but i cant. So, i see no way to get it even somewhat geared without putting in a lot of effort.
Give me some tips please on how to get my alt geared!

Crafted gear? Without putting in the effort, you will never get a toon geared this xpac since they took out the BoE gears from raids. Sorry to bust the bubble, but the only welfare epics are from rep right now.

Have you tried farming Darkmoon tickets and turning them in for heirlooms? If you have 11 toons on a single realm, and you do all 5 daily quests on each of them every day, and do the profession quests and Test of Strength on each of them, you can get 11 heirlooms every 2 months.
I should warn you that this will
destroy your soul
. Doing 55 dailies every day for 7 consecutive days isn't too bad, but farming 2,750 Grisly Trophies is mind-numbing HELL.

He's trying to gear a level 90, so the heirlooms wouldn't work.
@OP- You're going to have to lay out time or money to gear your alt if you want raid-level gear. If nothing else, at least they're putting a change in to make the rep grind from revered to exalted go faster.

What is the point of gearing the character up, if you're not going to run current raids or heroic dungeons with this alt?
If you want to just do some BGs and solo old content, don't worry about being "geared." Buy a set of the
Contenders
plate armor and have a blast.
Oh, thats a niete set! forgot about that. Then i can just slowly upgrade it with honor and conquest gear as i leisure pvp, Maybe run some 5mans for weapons, i feel kinda embarassed wielding that agility polearm from my mains archeology.

I am in the same boat. for now I have too much to do on my main to worry about gearing alts. What I am doing is a daily scenario. You will gradually build up some VP. Every rep has an item you can buy at honored, which is very quick to get. The drop rate fro 463 gear from the bag for finishing the scenerio is not terrible, you will get a couple 463s per week. There is no queue, and most of them take 10 minutes.

If you want to get a weapon with no effort then do the arena style scenario. There is a quest inside that gives an ilvl450 weapon as a reward. Takes about 10-15 mins to finish with a very small wait time.
