Hey all, as the title suggests, as of the current state of MoP, what is considered the best racial for rogue PvP?
Thanks all

Human, for the trinket racial.

That's my off-the-cuff answer too, though it's a lot less powerful relatively speaking now than it was when PvP trinkets did just that one thing. And humans are likely to be combat over other choices due to being 1% more experts with
bigger
weapons
.
I'd point to Forsaken as an interesting PvP race (as always). The
semi-trinket
they have does the same as the
human racial
in about half as many cases - and at a 30 sec CD to your actual trinket. And then they have that interesting
new thing
(well, used to be new anyway). I haven't tried it at max level PvP, so I can't say how good it really is.
When all is said and done, race is a still minor choice, and more aesthetical/fluffy than practical/crunchy.

I only dabble in PvP, but I heard TotG has an annoying habit of breaking CC. I'm not disputing it's uses, but it may be a bit of a wild card for arena play. Probably a huge help for battlegrounds, though, where your control isn't
usually
as vital.
Uniformed as I may be about the PvP scene, I think folks often overlook
dwarves
. They may not be the unequivocal kings of burst but if you can anticipate a burst, 10% less damage can be a huge boon not to mention CoS does nothing about bleeds.

The best thing about dwarves, though, is that they're the only alliance race to be able to grow a
decent
beard. Even the supposedly ancient and wild night elf men have sucky beard options.
I guess if TotG procs on sap, that sucks. I know how annoyed I am with sap delivering
Raining Blood
, and that's just PvE dailies and gathering herbs.

Undead also get
Cannibalize
, which is pretty nice. And with over 1k hks on my 49 UD Rogue, I've never experienced TotG breaking CC.

I went the other way, goblin for small hit box
Sure you can auto target but there is a slight chance they cant target you for that split second

Cannibalize is fun to use for taunting people you kill.
I like Goblin for small size and the rocket jump.

uhhh... combat/sub/assassin require the SAME expertise to get to dodge cap. Also, during this current tier, rogues only get fist/daggers from pve, this applies to pvp because the numbers shows that the main hand heroic fist weapons might just be BIS for combat rogues in pvp over the t2 one due to the gem and 9 more ilvl.

For your offhand, I'd agree with you, but for main hand (sub/combat especially) your damage done is HIGHLY dependent on the actual white DPS number that you have there. With higher ilvl comes higher dps number, plus the special 500 agil gem and the prismatic slot makes up for the lack of pvp power as well.

Tbh it Max damage done is more important then just dps. Always chose the weapon which has higher max damage. If your weapons dps is high it can mean it has like 1X max damage and 0.01y which means it does 150% of that 1X so it does 2.5X.... Or you have 5X max damage and 1.20Y speed which means it does 150% x 2.5X = 6.25X? so which maxe the last weapon much better for PvP.
IT HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE WEAPONS
MAX DAMAGE!
Tush, no offense intended, but were you drunk when you posted that? I have barely any idea what you're saying, and what I seem to understand sounds like utter nonsense to me.

1. Check shadowcraft for the EP for your gear in pvp mode. Shadow craft's EP ratings change depending on your ilvl (total stats), with less stats, agil is worth more. In combat/sub it'll tell you that the white dps number's is valued at 4-5 per point. Compairing bis 2/2 upgraded
Malevolent Gladiator's Fleshslicer
vs
Claws of Shek'zeer
shows a difference of 1,227.9 DPS which is an increase of about 44% in raw damage, which has an EP value that you have totally disregarded. One t2 pvp weapon accounts for about 15% of your PVP Power assuming all your gear is at the same ilvl. Sooo because I'm somewhat lazy and don't wish to do the math manually, when you plug in all the numbers on shadowcraft, only T2 weapons has 1.2k less EP than
Malevolent Gladiator's Fleshslicer
in the MH with full 2/2 male gear for assassin, 1.7k ep lower in sub and 2k ep lower in combat.
2. Since Combat/Sub/Assassin rogues abilities such as
Mastery: Main Gauche
,
Sinister Strike
,
Backstab
,
Hemorrhage
,
Mutilate
and
Blindside
are based on weapon damage, this drives the value of the dps up in terms of EP calculated by shadowcraft.
3.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7004010458?page=1
has a case study for warriors, which shows that this isn't limited to rogues.
4. There are very few top players who have gotten heroic sha touched weapons so you don't hear/see it much since they do not raid so they do not have access to the heroic version of the sha touched weapons.
5. Just read
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7006248101#11
for a case study with certain abilities and numbers, note that he specially talks about the heroic dagger from guardians in MSV for the 2nd example.

Well, I would not consider my self an EXPERT, but I have been playing a rouge for 40 levels or so and I have to concur that an Undead would be the best for starters... The starting area for the Undead 1-10 is ONE of the best areas to start in. When i started my character (1.5 months ago... I don't play a lot) it took me about an hour and a half to get to level 10. And good leveling!
