*raises eyebrow* "Myself"
"Kael'thas Sunstrider... And sane of course."
So I'm bringing this back but now I'm opening up to the actual writer's themselves.
So let's begin again.
To all the writer's. Who's your favorite character here and why? It could be one of your own or another or even both.
: For me, I have to say my current favourite is Zalexdrad. And not just because I ship him with Felicity. He had a great arc in Gen2 . When he was introduced he was basically a demonic rapist but once he and Felicity and the rest started out he became nobler, if not any less lascivious, much more self controlled. He developed a genuine attraction and kept to it, even feeling disgust at seeing Felicity disguised as a succubus, which was what he would have turned her into, and in the end, was vital every time they fought Jezebel and her minions.
: Personally, Vashadya. Vashadya has the appearance of a very delicate creature. While she may be exceptionally gentle, she is not weak. Ill fortune has tempered her with a very unique level of conviction. She does not have super-human strength or means to break mortal boundaries, she still pushes on where many cannot. She is an inherently good character and while not without her flaws she means well for even those who would harm her. Patient without measure she can leverage even the most explosively hostile of characters and still balance herself and those around her. The best way to describe her is the template for which other characters can aspire to achieve, the standard for a heroic, selfless character.
As far as another person's characters go I will always like Dag'rema and Kitanga. Skree went extra mile after extra mile in developing them and making them just a ton of fun to read about.
As far as mine go, I've had so many it's kinda impossible to choose but one that I love kinda less for what they have done and more for what I see as having been possible is Lak'tuk. Especially with Mists, Warlords, and now Legion having opened up some curious pathways I've always wondered what it might be like to take her down a certain path and incorporate some of the more interesting elements of each of those (especially Mists) into her development.
Okay, for any characters willing to answer. What would you like for Christmas? :D
I want a new chemistry set!
A night vision scope for my rifle
That new megawatt Filament i've seen in the markets
A new dress
Lucien home for the holidays so we can
*The rest of this thought has been purged in fire and the remnants buried never to be seen again*
Some peace and quite
All my children home for Christmas
The secret to creating titan steel..... or Leo, I'm not picky.
: Oh i dunno mebbe some
What is this you speak of?
I think a new ink set would be pleasant. But I wouldn't expect it of anyone.
I'm not picky. Just get me what I want. Don't keep me waiting either.
Some brew sounds great right about now.
: OH. A PUPPY! WAIT I AM A PUPPY! oh, um, no, wait, I know. I want ANOTHER PUPPY! Wait no that's dumb um um um um um a kitty! Wait kitties are bad. Um. Wait. What were we talking about again?
How's that go? All I want for Christmas is you..."
: I'd like to have all my family together for dinner.
: Peace on earth and a phase cannon.
For Leo's tongue to fall out so he'll shut up for once.
: A shark that can hunt on land. Humanity has grown too used to having sharks confined to water. Let us see them face the apex predator in their gardens, their kitchens, and attics. Everywhere they least expect it.
: Get that mike out of my face!
: A big fluffy kitty!
The holidays to be enoyed by thee. Oh Light! For thine worship and familial glee, I shall show them your glory by the power of song! Door to door in Stormwind, no urchin, no matter how small, shall be spared my song of the joyous season! Rejoice brothers! You there, child! Embrace the spirit of the season!
: Clarification on what "dark magic" it is I use. Shadow/necro magic is really confusing.
: A dragonhawk. Or becoming a magistrix. Hopefully both!
: This is for
, though feel free not to answer if you would prefer not to. I couldn't help but notice Morec of Rivendare is quite different in his latest incarnation for Sounds of Iron. I was wondering if you wanted to talk about how he's come to this stage of development?
I was just talking about this with Light over Steam a few days ago, but Morec (of Rivendare, since I'm not using that anymore I figured I might as well drop it off him as well) is that one character of mine that has never really been able to hit a firm "this works" note in terms of personality. He's either too comical in his fourth-wall breaking or I'm not able to hit a proper serious note with him, often hampered by the fact he WAS a comic character for so longer. Vala'sin's entire existence comes from an attempt to reboot the whole character, in fact.
For this I decided to go back to a thought I remember having about him a while back: blood knight, inspired - appropriately - from the blood DK spec. While I don't think Morec himself will be using much blood magic - or any magic at all, given my direction for his next-discussed trait - the idea of him being after a decent fight works well. It's a good base motivator and I find it's easy to balance a serious character and more light-hearted one on that trope, as blood knights often can be fairly comical (see Monty Python's Black Knight).
As you've also probably noticed, he's also got an ability to not die. This is actually a little trait I had developed for him a long while ago - if you'll recall that "Interview with a monster" or whatever it was called fic from YEARS ago - but I've decided to make it his go-to ability, replacing a reliance on the death knight anti-magic style which I moved over to Vala'Sin. The idea I'm running with for it is that his own necromantic power just keeps resurrecting him whenever he goes down, although there would be a cap to this and against lore figured (Thrall, Varian, Gul'dan) he'd go down like any other scrub - it's really only against PCs that this will be noticeable.
Because of discussion with Light I decided to add the stipulation that he has to have enough power in reserve to do this, so he wont be relying too much on magical abilities and will focus more around melee combat - which fits, albeit unintentionally, with how he handled the battle between himself and Lyris and Venhildra at the start of the Spires arc. If he exhausts too much of it, he'll go down for good, so he keeps it in reserve.
To any and all female characters; Max, Xander, or Zalexdrad?
Salena: why only those three? None of them compare to my Lucien.
Lana: I guess Max
Lexa: none of them
Marissa: Which one has the biggest price on their head?
: Xander. he sEEMs the eASIESt to conTROL.
: I find the sexual predator that is the incubus a curious manifestation, not to mention specialized. I would be interested to test him.
: Incubi? I think I read a book about those once...
: Max of course! He's just so much fun to tease. I didn't make sure he would live as long as I did for nothing you know. But I do admit, I've never done it with a druid. We could do some very interesting things with shape shifting I should think.
On this I will agree with my mother. Max has a certain...appeal...
: Ugh. Who cares? The only thing Zalexdrad is good for is letting off some steam. Idiot of an incubus. It's sickening how he hangs off Felicity, like he thinks he has a chance.
: Zalexdrad. Such a pity. We could have done so much together too...I would have been more than happy to take his pet of a paladin too.
: I'll see about others when I remember them.
: Let's see, human, human, demon... Do I have to pick? I'm not sure who would smell the worst or have most hair on odd places.
: I would pick Max, only to torment him into insanity.
Me: okay for the fellas. Salena, Silvia or Felicity.
It's a little hard
to pick the Dragon...
How can I fairly give myself to only one? I must fairly divide myself among them all.
I... uh... I don't want to... hurt anyone's feelings...
Well Silvia does have that certain quality in a woman. And by quality I mean an absolutely as-tonishing limberness. I swear sometimes she pops out her joints just to assume some of those positions.
: I would have to say the young paladin. There's just something about those young ladies so hopped up on holiness and self righteousness which gets this old man's blood flowing. Of course not too quickly. Nothing brings the mood down more than your partner having a heart attack. Usually, although I do know a few women who get more of a kick out of that sort of thing.
Who are you people! What-no! Don't write that down!
Vorguss: Hmm. A nether drake you say. How intriguing...
: What are we choosing between them? Is it attire? If it's attire then I must say the paladin has a lovely set of armour. Something about golden metal fascinates me...
