Hi,
The tip at the loading screen the other day said "Click on the Lightwell". I'm not sure what that might be referring to. Any ideas?
Cheers

It refers to a holy Priest spell that puts a lightwell down. If you click on it it will heal you. the spell is

It references a long-standing gripe that priests had about unaware raid members never clicking the lightwell which actually provided decent healing.

I see. It did seem a bit
strange to reference such a specific game element at the loading screen.

Yes, it is disheartening to have an easily accessible heal for your party/raid being ignored by many. I know I have engaged in several discussions concerning this here and on other forums.
MOP changed things a bit having a new glyph to use
to change it to not require clicking, instead it heals lower health members automatically.

It speaks volumes about the players when such measures are needed.
A perfectly good heal, that works without any problems at all, and is pretty efficient. Used by 10 % of all players. Even after you've told them to use it.
I still laugh whenever someone claims, with a straight face, that WoW-players are intelligent and observant people.

Yeah, so many players get tunnel vision... but clicking the Lightwell is a tad complicated for some.
I have even seen lots of people go running off to the Lightwell, so they can get healed from it. Trying to explain, "You don't need to run to it, just mouse over Lightwell & click" well they still can't understand how it works.
Then you get this "giggles"....
PuG raids or LFR... the Trolling Priest that is the bane of all evil... will do this kinda thing.
The Pro Trolling
Priests
, would place the Lightwell in these locations:
Next to portals, during boss encounter
Next to CC'd targets with massive hit box range
Under a bosses feet
Infront of the boss, on the other side of the room, behind the pillar & the trees. Then everyone in the raid goes "where F...is the lightwell"
These kinda peeps will also do this:
A
Macro
...well with something on the lines of this.......everytime they drop a Lightwell "sigh*
RaidWarning:
"CLICKZZZ THE LIGHTWELLLLLL....LOL XD"...
RaidWarning:
"CLICKZZZ THE LIGHTWELLLLLL....LOL XD"...
RaidWarning:
"CLICKZZZ THE LIGHTWELLLLLL....LOL XD"...
Ten + lines later the RaidWarning is still filling up the page... even if the Lightwell isn't even up.

Walk through the green balls.
This one is even more unlikely than clicking the lightwell. lol
It's amusing to me that they added this element into the game considering the lightwell success(?) :P

Thank you, Izichal, for making me never be able to look at those the same, ever.

It's actually funny, the last time I actively bothered with the lightwell was during the four horseman fight in naxx doing the switch with Blameaux and Zelik when I was back there with a priest.

to be fair to non-raiders.. think about it, if you only do dungeons, you might get a holy priest about 1 in 6 (probably much less).. then out of holy priests, how many bother putting down a lightwell in a dungeon? It is not surprising that many players go a long time without ever seeing one or learning what they are. It is a strange mechanism that is outside the norm of most healing specs.
And Blizzard was put in a bad situation with it.. Do they balance holy priests around players using it? Do they make it powerful enough that players actually ask for it, and holy priests need to use it? Or do they do what htey did, and balance mostly around players not using it, which makes holy priests even less likely not to use it.

It's the same reason there's a loading screen tip "don't stand in the fire!" x.x
