Your warrior's primary attack skill will depend on the specialization you have chosen. If you are not referring to turning on auto-attack, then for Arms specialization, you will want to use Mortal Strike. For Fury specialization, you will want to use Bloodthirst. For Protection, you will want to use Shield Slam.
Each of those abilities will be in the Spellbook. They should be in the book for the specialization you have chosen, and you can quickly find them on the Core Abilities tab.

He wants to put just "Attack" on his bar. As in, the thing warrior has under key "1" when a new character is started.

The thing on the first button when you make a new character is your auto attack button...

Lancecaster is correct. If you're still wanting to have auto-attack on your bar, I believe it's in your spellbook under the General tab.

The
Attack
ability isn't accessible once it's removed from a warrior's bars. However, it is functionally identical to /startattack. Furthermore, as of patch 5.0, all offensive warrior abilities that require a target execute /startattack even if the ability itself is not performed due to immunity or not meeting range, facing, or resource requirements.
His goal seems to be primarily to remove the action of right-clicking his target in order to begin melee attacks (without accidentally toggling off melee attacks as can happen with the
Auto Attack
ability in the spellbook). His best course of action would be to use a specialization ability with high priority which would also save him a button on his controller's limited keypad.
Also, for any warrior character that hasn't reached level 10,
will do just fine since that ability is available at level 1 now.
If you
do
have buttons left over, you can keybind "Interact with Target" and "Target Nearest Friend" in the Targeting Functions section of the game's Key Bindings UI, and you won't need to click auctioneers, bankers, and questgivers. You can also create macros to accept and turn-in quests. The arrow keys and Enter can be used to select characters (but not to change realms or create/delete characters) at the character select screen. The /camp command can be used in a macro to close the game, and that's all that I can think of at the moment.

You can never add attack back to your action bar once you remove it, but you don't need to. Starting combat with an offensive ability will also trigger your auto-attack.

Right clicking will also trigger autoattack, and all specs have a rage-free ability either way.

You can also just macro /startattack into some abilities and bind them in convenient places. No need to make a single macro that just starts it for you.
I recommend (for warriors):
Strike
Heroic Strike
All spec abilities tied to the Strike cooldown
Execute
Colossus Smash

Are my posts invisible? I'm just trying to help. I think I covered everything between the two of them, and many people have echoed my posts.
i made a warrior just too see what you mean and its
Attack
.
Attack
is the same as
Auto Attack
.
They are not the same. The only difference is that
Auto Attack
is a toggle.
I think TKitch's note is important:
Clicking "Attack" repeatedly only makes the animation happen more often, it doesn't actually make you swing your weapon more. (Just looks like it to you.)
MFlorida, as I mentioned before (in a few more words), the ability doesn't actually do anything that isn't already a part of most other warrior abilities. It's best to initiate combat with your specialization ability,
Charge
, or
. You can use
until you receive your specialization ability at level 10.
You can also just macro /startattack into some abilities and bind them in convenient places.
Except for Strike, which doesn't exist anymore, all of those abilities perform /startattack without a macro.
The main abilities that would benefit from a macro are
Thunder Clap
,
Whirlwind
,
Heroic Leap
,
Bladestorm
,
Shockwave
,
Dragon Roar
.

Hold down the x key (optical storage rifles) and hold the lower right corner of the Charge slot fills a certain extent,I hope to help you.
Getting past the snark and attitude from some people in this thread:
1) Right-clicking on a target will begin your attack.
2) Auto Attack is in your spellbook, if you really want it on your bars.
3) Any melee ability will automatically begin your attack.
Additional notes:
Clicking "Attack" repeatedly only makes the animation happen more often, it doesn't actually make you swing your weapon more. (Just looks like it to you.)
There is very little reason to keep it around, but if you can't get that ability in your spellbook, you can do the following:
Open the macro book: (Type "/macro" in chat)
Create a new macro, name it, and pick the icon you like.
Text of the macro: "/startattack"
Save it
Throw that macro onto your bar. Problem solved, Attack is back.

It only occurs if the attack fires off. This is why I still macro it so it begins regardless of whether the ability is on cooldown or not.

My experience shows otherwise, and I went into more detail in an earlier post in this thread. You should open a ticket if you are having a problem.
Regardless of cooldowns, attempting to use an offensive ability that requires a target will turn on your melee attacks as long as you have a target selected when you attempt to use the ability. (/startattack also requires a target).
