Descriptive locations

I'd like to see more wowhead users describe locations of items in the database comments. Too often I see stuff like:
"I found
example item
at (42.0, 17.5)"
That being the entire comment.
This information is only helpful for players that use map add-ons.
Making your comments more descriptive, will communicate better with the rest of the community
, which will in most cases, increase your rating.

I agree, but with the addition of addons that have coordinates, it has made people lazy. I can tell a lot of people on my realm, "Look beside the reforger at Shrine, who is in the top floor middle section." and they respond asking for the coordinates.

Just my opinion, but playing without addons is like driving a Ford Model T when you could be driving a modern Ferrari. Sure they both can get you from point A to point B, but the Ferrari is infinitely nicer. Since addons are free to use and don't violate the Terms of Use, not using them just makes things harder on yourself.
Addons also are incapable of providing information the game itself does not provide. Case in point, the coordinates are derived from WoW's built in API; they are not invented by the addon.
People who chose not to use addons are the lazy people, not the people who use them. The only reason anyone should not use addons are players who play in sanctioned competitions, where addons are not allowed.
TL;DR: I have no sympathy for people without addons.

Actually, I find
nearly all
comments that are only about the location of an NPC or object highly superfluous.
This is not Thottbot, but Wowhead, which provides a map with location markers, and that can be zoomed in on by clicking it. This should almost always suffice to locate the target even without any addons.
The only time comments about the location are useful is when the target is inside a cave, or can't be found easily with the map above for another reason.

Exactly my point. There are
many
hard to find items.

I agree, but a lot of players don't have Ferrari computers and add-ons don't help to run the game any smoother.

there are a bunch of very minimal add-ons that add coordinates.. If you have run into this problem enough that you felt the need to post here, you should just download one and join the crowd.
And to be honest, it is in poor form to complain about the form in which people volunteer to help other people. If someone finds a rare item and only wants to post the coordinates, then that is them being helpful... it is not them being lazy by not giving a full description.

I see your point, and it's cool of people to help. But I can also see how, over the long-term, someone might get frustrated if every time help is offered it's done in a way that doesn't benefit him. To be fair, though, I think it would be easiest to just DL coordinates. As others have mentioned, there are some light ones you can download that won't substantially slow you down. I've used CT mod since vanilla and you can pick and choose which elements of it you want, like coordinates.

It was not complaining,
at all
. Personally I use the wowhead client, it works fine for my map.
I did not come to the forums to start arguments, I came here to offer a solid suggestion to help our community. You people getting offended at that need to rethink your standards.
Perhaps I'm just using the wrong website...

I don't understand how taking your time to get from point A to point B can be considered lazy.
