Are you asking how to get to the zones, or are you asking what is the progression?
The second is easier. At level 58 you pick up the breadcrumb quest which probably is on the huge placards beside the banks and auction houses, and follow along until you get to Outland, which is the Burning Crusade content.
At level 68, repeat to get to Northrend, the Wrath of the Lich King continent.
Level 78 will either send you an in-game mail or perhaps check the placard again, and off you go to the Cataclysm zones.
Then at level 85 (you might be able to do this at 83, but I can't verify as my character was already 85) you get an in-game mail that summons you to the throne room in Ogrimmar. It should then tell you to talk to a zeppelin captain who will take you to Pandaria.
Keep in mind the zones you are in right now are post-Cataclysm, assuming you have the Cataclysm expansion installed. I don't know if the Battle Chest comes with that expansion. You will definitely need to buy Mists of Pandaria by itself in order to gain level 85+, skills up to 600, the new zones, the Pandaran race, etc.
Here's the first answer, being second. Get a Mage buddy to make portals to the higher zones and look around the cities (Shattrath, Dalaran, Shrine of the Two Moons), or a Warlock buddy to summon you to them. Please be aware that Cataclysm did not have a new mega/capital city, and players used Stormwind, Ogrimmar, Ironforge, etc. You will NOT survive setting foot outside of these cities, as being such a low level, mobs from almost the entire zone will instantly aggro on you and eat your bones.
I would not suggest binding your hearthstone to anywhere but Ogrimmar because the first two cities no longer have portals back, and the Shrine has no Auctioneer unless your character has the Engineering trade skill.

If you mean purchasing the expansions, you don't need to buy Wrath of the Lich King, as that is baseline now, but you need to get Cataclysm before you can add Mists of Pandaria to your account.
