I thought about this just now after seeing 2/5 of my screen shots get approved while the other 3 are still just kind of out there, and numerous reports getting declined. Could we possibly get a reason why things are declined here at wowhead? Be it a quick email with a reason, or even some form of on site msg system that only the mods could use to contact us?

Typically, as i understand, the declined reports are from reporting forum posts. I agree we should get some sort of reply as to why it was declined, maybe a simple one line reason. I have had a couple declined reports, yet never see approved reports. If they include feedback reports on items, why do i get a -0 for declined but nothing for approved reports? I know i have reported many bugs that were fixed yet i get no credit for them.
As for the screenshots, they may have not reviewed them yet. Please review the screen-shot guidelines.
In-game screenshots are preferred over model-viewer-generated ones.
The higher the quality the better!

Hi there,
This is simple practicality.
We have a team of volunteers that handle forum, comment, comment-reply, guide approval, out-of-date coments, vote abuse, localisation and screenshot reports (different teams for the last two but still volunteers). We deal with sometimes hundreds of reports a day and, as such, it's impractical to provide a reason for each individual decision.
For screenshots there are resources
here
and
here
that give good suggestions on how to take screenshots that will be used but the usual reasons are low quality images, images containing UI elements or simply uploading screenshots of things that already have lots of approved screenshots.
Moderators often do send a message to a user when they decline something but it's the exception rather than the rule. If there's something about which you really need a response then feel free to contact but I would ask that this really be used in specific, important cases.
@FederalAgent, Accepted forum and comment reports award +10 rep and should appear on your reputation tab as such. I'm not aware of any bug in this system. Are you talking about forum and comment reports or something else?

I was referring to bug/misinformation reports through the feedback link on each page.

Those aren't tied in to the reputation system at all though they're very much appreciated.

I figured it was only for forum reports, its not a problem. Just needed clarification.

Well, I did send an email volunteering my services to Wowhead, and never heard anything back, so.....idk.
As for the "lots of screenshots", I know there were none posted to the NPCs I took screen caps of as I was looking at their pages while writing a comment to a quest. And since I was linking to each NPC, I felt it would help to provide a picture.

You sent a mail to feedback? I see three emails from you and none of them talk about volunteering.
That said, it isn't an issue that is solved by getting more volunteers. I understand and agree that it would be nice to give a reason when declining a report but the nature of volunteering is that you give 10 minutes here and there when you can. For some reports we could end up spending more time replying than actually doing the work of moderating. I'll suggest to the team that we send a quick message when we have enough time but I need to keep expectations of that low because it won't always be possible.

Nonono..i went to the volunteering at wowhead section and sent an email to ashelia@wowhead.com like it said to do. It was mainly to help mod the forums in the off peak hours when I notice the majority of the mods aren't fully awake and had that first
cup
pot of coffee yet.

Ah okay. I'm sorry but she didn't forward that one on. With the acquisition of the awesome Elhonna we're not currently looking for more volunteers but I'll make a note of your interest for future.
We do have mods that span most of the time zones - which is made easier by my own insomnia though made harder by Hat's inability to stay in one country ^_^. However, with Squish in Australia, Sas on the West coast and me in Europe we've got most of the clock. I'm pretty pleased with our current reaction times though.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

The turn around for production is currently 18 months. We require 100% down payment ahead of time before production will be allowed to proceed. Please contact us at acquisitions@ElhonnaLLC.com with further inquiries.

We love to debate things. I think we have a full pages of posts in the staff forums talking about this too.
