Hi Rapthorne,
There's a lot of general confusion out there about the expansions, what to download, and generally how the whole process works. The way to think about it is - there is only one World of Warcraft (not really.. there's different ones for each of the regions, but that's a different story...). In order to play the game, you have to have the full Game Client installed. This is basically the full version of the game, with most (if not all) the expansion info already baked into the program. You must have this downloaded in order to play the game at all, regardless of which expansion you are at.
In short: if you can play the game at all, and purchase a new expansion - there is no need to put in the expansion disc to unlock the newer content. The game will patch as necessary, but most of the data would already have been installed on a working game client. Also, you do not need to purchase the game again or any expansions to play over at a friend's house - simply just go through the
digital download process to acquire the game client from your battle.net account.
(Please let me know if I misunderstood your inquiry!)
As for your second question, yes! Paypal is accepted as an alternate payment method for the subscriptions.
Have a great day,

The Battle.net system is prone to temporarily lock down any account that is being accessed from a new computer or from a new location. In order to remove the lock, you'll need to reset the password. On the battle.net homepage, near the top you will see '
log in'. Click that and you'll see the dialog window for the email and password. Right below that will be the '
can't log in?' option. Clicking that will help you bypass the lock.
Not all SMS-capable phones are able to utilize the SMS protect service that we offer. If there's any problem with that, you might want to see if one of our representatives can apply the number for you. As I recall, the US accounts may only accept US numbers. If it is a EU account, then you probably wouldn't have a problem.
Lastly, the subscription rates do not change depending on the amount of content that you have access to. The subscription prices are varied depending on the amount of time you buy at once - the more time you subscribe to at once, the more you save. (It equates to about a $2 per month savings if you buy the 6 month subscription).
I'll continue to check the thread to see if you have any other questions - otherwise, you're welcome to contact our support representatives directly,
here.
I hope that helps! :)
