But that's how it is for a PVP realm. You put yourself in that position by choosing that realm. Live with it (because you can't control if you're going to get gank or not) or transfer to a PVE realm.
I know how it is in a pvp realm, but please understand what exactly I'm upset about. Its one thing to be ganked ,and another to be ganked ENDLESSLY, FOREVER AND EVER NONSTOP 24/7.
Its madness. We have a saying in venezuela "ni calvo ni con dos pelucas" In english that's "Neither Bald, nor wearing two Wigs". I can understand them wanting to "liven up" the pvp realms which used to be very dead, but this is ridiculous.

If I'm being ganked to the point where some 90's camping me, I log a bigger toon and crush him. If there's 3 or more, I log my warrior and my wife logs her priest (our arena team :P) and we destroy them.
If you don't have close friends, or a guild to fall back on in terms of defense, shout it out in /1, or at least log an alt in a city and ask for help in /2. Yeah that's tedious but it's also expected on PvP realms - why else allow unflagged killing unless you expect unexpected PvP to occur?
Hell, send me an invite and I'll back you up.

*sips cup of hot chocolate while sitting in a nice, comfy chair in a tall ivory tower on a pve realm* Yes, it's posts like these that make me glad to have moved to a pve realm when I learned of the new changes to pvp realms in MOP.
Wanna hear the irony of it? I actually play on a PVE realm most of the time. My horde mains are all in a PVE realm. However for reasons that can't be disclosed on this forum, my alliance secondary main is in a PVP realm, and you would not believe just how ridiculous it was to level up. Its just not possible to do quests. EVER. No way. At all. NEVER. Its not so bad once you reach pandaria and finally get away from that damned CRZ, you get the typical ganking from time to time, but that's about it, you don't get uninterrupted bloodbaths that last forever.

that would be awesome if its just 1 or 2 gankers, you tell me the solution when there's FORTY people doing it. There's also tons of high lvls of my faction too, but they can't stop the other guys from oneshoting the questgivers or the lowbies. So its a constant tol-barad round in wich the only ones who can't get anything done is the little guys.
CRZ effectively KILLED questing. You heard it, quests are over. Kaput. At least in outland, can't speak yet if this is the case in northrend, but its most definetly the case in the cata-zones like vashj and hyjal.
Guildies, or even good samaritans from your own realm can't do squat against a tidal wave of endless enemy players that just pours forth endlessly. And I do mean ENDLESSLY. There's not a single hour of any day, that I don't see 40+ people ganking anything with a pulse in outland.

CRZ, contrary to how loudly the minority screams, won't show much of a dip in the pop of subs. After all, if that was true, then every time they screamed about welfare epics, 'easy' modes and all the rest would mean the game would be naked of players.
As for the numbers; betting on them still being over 10mil, since there hasn't been the Cata slog in MoP.

civ, it just doesn't sit well with a percentage of the playerbase, that's life. Shouting them down accomplishes nothing. I am sure we can all agree that's its here to stay regardless of our feelings on the matter.

If I were sure it were here to stay then I wouldn't be so annoyed. What worries me is that people who are on the wrong realm type and those who only want a MMO when it suits them might win.
My trust in Blizzard is fragile at best.
It's no secret that I am no fan of CRZ, but I've learned to adapt. When zone population reaches the point at which I am annoyed I go do something else. CRZ functions for me as a behaviour modification tool.
However, despite the fact that I personally want it removed, I honestly believe that at this point Blizzard has far too much invested (monetarily and otherwise) in CRZ to simply cast it aside. I'm no insider though, so I have nothing else to offer by means of assuaging your concerns.
Edit: If we're placing bets on sub numbers I'll take 9.75 million worldwide.

Switch to a pve realm. Why did you roll on a pvp realm when you don't like being targeted for battle?
Should read his other posts, as he does play his main on a PvE realm...

It seems some people just aren't getting what rankk is saying. He doesn't mind the occasional person ganking him. But when it is nonstop for hours on end, it can get tedious. I leveled on a PvP realm first, and it was annoying when I would get killed while in Outland. But I would always wait a little bit and go in my way.
When you can't even do anything for hours on end, it gets frustrating.
And yes I did transfer off, but this wasn't because of getting ganked. It was because the friends that were on that realm barely played. I wouldn't mind going back to a PvP realm if I had max level characters to switch with to get revenge.
And rankk also said he has toons on both PvE and PvP realms.

exactly. my alliance secondary main is on a PVP realm for reasons that are beyond my control. (reasons that I can't disclose on this here website :P) But every single one of my other characters is on a PVE realm.

This is the meat of the thing. I'm not complaining about ganking, that's part of pvp life, someone gansk you, you rezz, go on about your business. If you're being camped, just log off for 10 min for a coffee break and continue.
With CRZ this is non-stop ganking 24/7, forever. One solution would be to drastically reduce the servers in a CRZ for pvp realms. Say, groups of 5 servers, so that at least at SOME hours, you can find some peace and quiet to actually level up. Another solution would be to add diminishing returns on specific players. Once you've been killed 20 times in a row by a high level player, within the last hour, you become immune to attacks by high level players for at least 2 hours.
As I said, neither bald, nor wearing 2 wigs. Being able to level up in a pvp realm without being killed by a 90 even once is bad. Being unable to level up at all with questing because as soon as you poke your head at any hour of any day, someone blows it up, is equally bad. All things need moderation.
Its just sad when you have to forget about quests entirely because its not possible to level at all.

So get ready for another bout of people whining that WoW is dying, Blizzard are fools, *insert part of the game here* is killing the game, bring back Vanilla/BC/Wrath to get more people playing etc etc etc etc time.

Like clockwork, baby. Just like complaints about Tuesday maintenance and login queues the first week of expansion.

I still don't get why people care about the numbers so much.

Define 'so much'. I think people care, because they care about the game.
Cheers.
