"Liking getting nagged and getting grey hair early? Oh sure you could argue for getting in bed but then what happens later when
that
bites you in the butt and you've got to raise snot-nosed brats?" came the rebuttal. By this time the pair found themselves on the other side of the Valgarde wall.
"We can make our way towards the village along the western cliff edge. We'll have more cover there."

"Getting pretty defensive there." Lucien raised his arms in surrender. He nodded, looking up at the cliffs above. "Right." He commented; starting towards them and keeping and glancing around.

Like snails avoiding a boot the deathstalkers ran around, skilfully dodging the giant's angry swipes and attempting to strike back from behind whenever possible.

Character: Falionna Shadesong
Location: Howling Fjord
Falionna drew up one of her one handed sword from her back and stabed the mountain giant repediatly in its eye, making it fall backwards and land on it's stone and tree back in a pond of foul, smelly mud.
The dark ranger had jumped down before the fall and landed safley from the splater of mud, exept for a new stain on her black cloak.

Vladimer muttered something under his breath about he was
not
being defensive, but went after Lucien regardless.

"So besides psychotic giants." Lucien commented, following along the side of the cliff and along towards the Vyrkul settlement. "What other lovely residents of Northerend are there?"

The technical demonstration went on for a while, as Jack had to go through basic things (or at least things
she
thought were basic) a number of times before the captains caught on. Eventually, the endless tide of questions seemed to slow and finally stop completely.
"Since it seems your lesser cognitive abilities have finally caught on to how to work these things, I think I can take my leave for now," Jack concluded. "If you have need of me, which I sorely suspect you will, have someone fetch me from the inn. Or better yet, come down their yourselves and get me."
She made her way towards the exit of the room, turning around to look at the captains, "--and watch carefully, all right? We wouldn't the Scourge getting their boney hands on these things."
With that, she waited for no reply before making her way out. Annoyed murmurs spread throughout the room with her absence, and the man in the suit (Counselor Talbot, as he was apparently known) managed a small, yet quite smug, grin.

"Well those scaley beasts they ride," Vladimer mentioned. "Some of the more seasoned veterans say they're effectively more degenerate dragons. Like their disabled cousins or something. Word from the other side of the continent is basically what you'd expect: Scourge and Horde. None of it good."
The lines of soldiers were beginning to form up into battle positions outside of Valgarde's wall. The Vice Admiral was keeping a few scouts with keen eyes watching the river for any sign of Vrykul that would preemptively attack. Hannah shifted nervously from where she stood in the back lines, behind the foot soldiers.

Lucien nodded, quieting down as large stone and wooden structures came into view. "Looks like we're here." He muttered.

Vladimer slipped his bow off his shoulder, kneeling down behind some rocks while he worked on tightening the string, "Then I guess we settle back and wait for the signal."
"Too long have we sat back, cowering on this side of the river while these giants storm across with intent to kill and conquer!" the Vice Admiral bellowed to the gathered soldiers. "Too long have we been pressed to defend ourselves tooth and nail while they spit on our dead and have feasts in the name of their dark god!"
"Yet we've held on against their onslaughts! The wall of Valgarde has not yet fallen! These Vrykul will not take our stronghold until the breath of our last man stops!" he continued, raising a sword high. "But
now
is not that time.
Now
we press our advantage.
Now
we will see who is left cowering in their bedsheets!"
"Forward!
For the Alliance!
" Keller concluded, pointing his sword forward towards the river. Scouts on either side blew battlehorns taken from fallen Vrykul. A mocking challenge meant to draw their soldiers out. The Alliance forces charged across the riverbanks at their shallowest points, intent on taking cover in the woods as the giants forces came pouring to meet them.

Lucien checked his revolver; making sure it was fully loaded before clicking the clip back into place and spinning it. Reaching into his coat, he withdrew a silencer and attatched it to the muzzle of the handgun.
The sounds of the army echoed outwards, followed by the thundering footseps of Vyrkul; nearly shaking the ground where they walked.

Vlad looked over the rock he was hidden behind, watching the human soldiers cross the river and meet the Vrykul in the woods. He could already hear the sounds of battle, as the Vrykul shouted deadly curses and war cries in their native tongue. The assassin waited patiently, and a few minutes later a red flare shot through the trees and exploded above the woods.
"There we go," he muttered.

Lucien nodded. "Alright, let's move!" He said, rushing along and remaining low to the ground as he made his wat through the trees.
Dropping, he slid feet-first along the dirt a moment, getting back up against the side of one of the gigantic Vyrkul buildings. Inching along, he glanced around the side in an attempt to get a view of the settlement.

Vladimer reached down into the quiver at his hip and removed and arrow, sliding it into position in his bow and following after Lucien, crouched low to the ground. The Vrykul village itself was quite large when they had a view on the other side of the treeline, buildings scattered about, almost haphazardly, along dirt roads. Bonfires, weapons, and cages were the most prominent scattered objects, with motifs of skulls and bones a common decoration.
The roads were always crowded with the giant men rushing towards the forest, hauling their enormous weapons.
Hannah had crawled up into a tree.
She had never really been good at climbing, but desperation often made the hardest tasks easier. She crouched in a sturdy split in the trunk and took aim with her rifle, aiming for heads as she fired off bullets. Faile was a great distraction, diving in and out before the Vrykul could attack her and keeping them focused on how annoying she was.
The footsoldiers had already engaged the Vrykul, who had been quick to meet their challenge. Already, the ground was running red with blood from both sides.

Lucien watched carefully. "Those cages must hold something..." He mentioned. "Wonder if it's the prisonners."
Breathing quickly, he dashed along away from the building; sticking himself behind a large banner stabbed into the ground and attempting to get a better vantage point.

Vladimer crouched down near the corner of a building, holding his bow and his breath while he watched for any Vrykul that might attempt to disrupt Lucien.
True to his observations, the cages were meant for holding prisoners. Starved Alliance soldiers, all of whom looked half-dead, bloodied faces or chests as they slumped in a corner and tried to hold onto threads of life.
Some of them weren't even alive anymore.

Lucien grimaced, looking back to where he left Vlad and motioning to the cages. Holding up his hands, he made several slow motions; leaning towards the slightly. He then placed his hands out in front of them, pulling one back suddenly. Holding his hands out again like holding something, he leaned back away with a dragging motion.

Vladimer stared at Lucien's strange hand gestures for a moment, before pulling the brim of his hat up so that the man could plainly see the 'I have no idea what you're trying to tell me' expression on the assassin's face.

Lucien sighed and placed a palm over his face.
This was why he preferred solo work.
Holding up a hand, he signaled Vlad to stay where he was; motioning from his eyes to the road; where the stream of Vyrkul had ceased for a moment.
Nodding the rogue moved from his cover; quickly ducking along towards the nearest cage.
