"Alternatively, I could find one of the many, highly trained guards in the town to the deal with her myself," Jack responded coolly. She finished off her wine and set the empty glass on the counter. "Now, I have some gold to earn."
The woman left the counter and headed for the exit of the inn and out into the cold streets of Valiance Keep.

"Five yards out to our left. Overwatch," the forsaken replied; the second question he ignored. "Hi-yo, silver!" he mocked and the column set out towards the great lift.
The dark ranger's second question was then answered in kind when the screech of a dragonhawk resounded over the bay. A great winged beast rose from one of the ghostly ships by the dock. "There she is," the leader said as if it wasn't obvious enough - just in case the ranger didn't get it.

"Runs in the family. Her brother-in-law commands an airship," the forsaken called over the slipstream. "I value close air support more than my left leg," he added.
Vanessa climbed to a comfortable height over the bay and began circling over the rest of her group in wide passes.

Jack slipped her hands into the pockets of her coat, comfortably walking against the chilling breezes and the cold spray of the ocean as small waves pushed against the dock. Sparing a glance further down the port she noted the dock where her ship had been was now empty. She smirked slyly to herself, making her way to where a line of recruits was formed to sign up for their duties.
She cut to the front by coming up behind the recruiters, tapping one on the shoulder (while being heckled by those standing in line, the cold making their cheeks red and numb as they shouted and cursed).
"Yes...?" the man looked up, eyes both hard and weary. "The back of the line is that way," he pointed with the butt of his gnomish pen to the end of the docks.
Jack threw a dismissive wave at the annoyed line of people, "Carmelita Liorahven," she stated simply, which prompted a muffled, strangled exclamation from the recruiter.
"Commander Arlos wants you on the training field right now, m'am!" he said stiffly.
"Then I suppose that's where I'll be going," Jack replied, making her way away from the table and in the noted direction.

The Vice Admiral grunted, "Son, I needed you a week ago," he scanned over at Hannah and Vladimer, "and you two?"
"Well, we were bringing Mister Greyfang out here, but we have news from the Wall. Another Vrykul attack was successfully repelled, but we've lost even more men to them," Vladimer explained. "If we don't do something now we're going to lose this position."
Keller grimaced, looking back down at the plans on the table, "We have little information about the village's defenses. Other than the fact these giants are worth at least ten of our men individually, and the fact they have those ugly-spawns-of-dragonkin to ride. None of our scouts have returned alive."

The forsaken only gave the undead elf a puzzled look.
The group soon came to the lift, broke formation and rode it up the steep cliffs. Once at the top, they reformed into a single file with Falionna to the side.
"Hey Aaron," the deathstalker at the front called for her group leader's attention. "She can handle the proto-drakes right? We got nothing to put up against them if they come."
"Ranger's got a bow, Jen," the leader assured, which made the other forsaken chuckle.

"Have you ever been up against one of those beasts, ranger?" Aaron asked. "The Alliance uses harpoons that could skewer a Kodo and they barely hurt those flying fiends. Your bow better be special."

"They won't let me demolish buildings yet." He said and reached into his tool pouch and pulled out a couple grenades that hit the table. "I can make these. This one has a frost charge." He said holding up a blue one. "And these explode sending glue everywhere." He added pointing to a yellow one. "And this actually is a special liquid mom made that ignites and burns slowly. It's great for undead, the military bought a lot of these." He said holding out a red one.

The comment earned another chuckle from the group moving out of the blockade. They waved to the abomination commanding the local soldiers as they passed and headed southwest on the main road.
"Awfully quiet today, boss," came a call from the rear guard, to which Aaron only laughed again; a creaking, short sound.

"I don't get it, can you explain it to me?" Ahriman raised an eyebrow. "Why would something that burns slowly be effective against the undead? You know, the whole hard to kill, durable, impervious to pain gig, that sort of stuff."

"It's slow but incurably hot. It can burn as hot as dragon fire." He said picking it up. "You drop these one the ground where undead are approaching and they burn up before they make it threw the fire but since it takes a while to burn threw the oil you don't have to worry about dropping more grenade and can turn your focus to other matters." He said.
