The spider took the blade, shaking at the sensation but not without fight as it charged Vance. Raising up, it leapt at the human; swinging its from legs wildly.
Other spiders stayed back for a moment, testing the bursts of light magics. Eventually, however, they threw caution to the win; sprinting at the two with great speed.

Taliria nodded. "Seems so." She stated.

"...and if you were to allow
my
shops to sell them, we'd be able to set the markup at a healthy price and force that doltish Tarish out of business," the nobleman said, folding his arms. "Your current prices are simply much too low, and I
do
own the largest chain of scribe shops around."
"It is certainly worth considering," the second nobleman said. "I'm sure we can work something out. Send me a preliminary draft of the terms and I'll get in contact with you."
He held out a hand, and the first nobleman shook it. "Of course, of course," he said, withdrawing. The first nobleman waited until he left, then chuckled to himself. "Idiot. I'll make twice as much on this venture as him."
The man in the suit listened, frowning. This wasn't how the deal was supposed to go. He made to step out, then stopped, frowning, and remained hidden. Something was off.

The spider lunged into the blade; fangs pointed forward as it drove itself towards Vance's hilt.
The others gave a slight pause, save two who continued and charged straight through the attack; hairs burning off their bodies.

"Makes sense." Taliria nodded; following. "I'm just mostly curious who might be stealing them..."

"That was probably the most pointless death in the uni- no multiverse." Alythera commented to herself as Silvais was taken away.

"Quite the contrary." Arana commented. "It was neither death, nor pointless. She will soon awaken, transformed for the better."
Turning, she began to make her way out of the clearing, and towards a small cave, webbing lining its entrance in a thick white sheet. The covering parted as she approached; allowing entrance.
The spider assaulting Vance fell limp suddenly, its effort in vain.
The spider took the knife, leaping with only minimal pause at the duo, the second arachnid exploding into gore as it was struck by the Light.
The masses of spider beyond began to back away; retreating from the inferno.

"Well that was easy..." Taliria mentioned; stepping over the boarder.

Varen Ashblade
Silvermoon City
Varen woke with a start, the sheets soaked in cold, sticky sweat. Every inch of his body was tense and alert, ready to flee or fight for his life as soon as a threat was discovered. But the nightmare was gone, and in the waking world there was no danger.
The elf sat up, blearily wiping his forehead with the blanket. He swung his legs over the bedside and sat up, swallowing hard. His mouth was dry and the lips stuck together unpleasantly. This was not a good beginning of the day.
He placed his hands on his stomach, and the laboured breathing slowed and eased up considerably after only a moment. The elf stretched and yawned, and now that he was reasonably calm he registered the sun's rays coming through the window and depositing their welcome warmth on his stern face and wiry body. He reached for the bedside table, finding his black silk blindfold where he left it. He thoughtfully weighed the strip of cloth in his hand for a moment, before habitually wrapping it around his face and tying the knot behind his head.
With a sigh he stood up, rolled his shoulders and walked the few steps it took to cross the room. A pair of thin, straight slack pants were snatched from a chair and promptly put on. Then, just as the lace had be tied, someone knocked on the door.
"Yeah?" Varen called in reply.
Three more knocks.
"I'm not dressed!"
Three more, and this time with notably less patience.
He pulled open the door with perceptible irritation. "
What!
"
A short, blonde elf stood outside, which of course he didn't really see. "Put a shirt on," she said with a tone that was both business-like and amused. "Yeah..." Varen sighed, not really being in the mood for a I-told-you-I-wasn't-dressed. From the direction of her voice he could tell she was much shorter than him, and he also noticed - completely in passing - that she sounded cute. He turned around and aimed his steps at the wardrobe intending to get a shirt.
He heard that she crossed the threshold without closing the door behind her, and once he had pulled a short-sleeved rag over his head he turned to face her.
"Mind telling me what this is all about?" he inquired calmly.
"Pack a bag. You're going to the Undercity."

Isara Amberleaf
Howling Fjord
The breathtaking beauty of Northrend had long been shrouded by the horrors of war, but luckily those days were mostly over. When the packet cutter pulled into Daggercap Bay after a breathtaking journey of exhilarating blue-water sailing in a long lived almost-storm, everyone on board took a moment to enjoy the scenery. Soon, however, the bosun's whistle and the harsh shouted orders returned everyone except the sailing master and the few passengers to the frantic duty of preparing to dock in Valgarde.
Isara Amberleaf was one of those passengers, and she did her best not to be in the way of the men milling about to drive the incredible machine of ropes and spars. Her violet hair whipped in the wind; a pleasant feeling now that the gale wasn't trying to send them to the bottom of the ocean. To lean on the railings showed bad character, she knew that, but it was far from easy to keep herself from wrapping an arm around a shroud to get a better view of the rushing, foaming green mass beneath them.
A few seagulls fluttered overhead, their mocking laughter echoing back and forth between the vertical cliffsides. A bell rang somewhere on the dock. Suddenly, the jetties were crowded with dockhands making ready for the long expected arrival of letters and parcels, not to mention food and other necessities. Before long, the vessel laid alongside the dock and lines where being thrown ashore to fasten the boat to solid ground.
When the gangway finally was out and the necessary shore-going ceremonies had been performed, the elf bounded down the inclined plane with expectant steps, eager to feel something under her feet that didn't move like a giant, restless animal.

Silvarun chuckled, "We can slaughter them with ease and dissolve their remains within their acidic sewers!"
"That would be foolish," hissed Melana, "We are not here to kill."
"Why wasn't I assigned to Orgrimmar or Dustwood?" Silvarun growled with distaste, "Let us finish this task quickly!"

Barking a laugh, the young bronze dragon morphed into his mortal guise; a blonde, blue eyed high elf with a youthful face wreathed with laugh lines. Grinning, Drandormu nodded to the drakonid guards as he entered the Temple.
"Top of the morning, gents! A great time of day, is it not? Get it? Time?" Drandormu laughed again, "I'm off to see the Elders! Apparently someone has been messing about with time! Have a good day!" The youth skipped into the ancestral halls of the dragonkin.

Varen Ashblade
Silvermoon City
The translocation orb connecting the elven capital to the Undercity felt cold underneath Varen's hand. The surface, smooth as glass and slippery, seemed to respond to the touch. The vortex of arcane energy connecting the two distant places reached out, carefully feeling its way up into the traveller's palm and inducing a foreboding, tingling sensation. Then, like a violent surge of water washing over him, Varen was ripped off his feet.
The Lordaeron air was substantially colder than the mild autumn that gently embraced Eversong Woods. When the shock of displacement and the mild nausea caused by travelling across the globe in an instant had dissipated, this was the first impression that the new surroundings provided.
"This way," the familiar voice of his temporary guide instructed. He immediately collected his bearings and swirled around to follow when the sound of her footsteps let on that she didn't intend to wait.
She wordlessly led him on into the former throne room and to the elevators leading down beneath the old human capital. Once deep underground they continued navigating the cobbled tunnels of the extensive city for far longer than Varen thought possible if one knew the way...until they finally stopped. A door creaked, and the woman said cooly: "We're here. You're expected, so don't keep him waiting...
...and good luck."

Character:
Flagellus
Location:
Undercity, War Quarter
Where exactly he found a soap box was anyone's guess, the Forsaken not particularly well known for their hygienists.
A few paused to watch the forsaken ascend the box, his rags whipping about beneath loose plate mail coated by rust. Straps creaked, naturally, considering the amount he wore as though to hold up the tattered remnants of his armour. Grey steel boots thumped upon the box and gauntlets clanged as he brushed his hands of any lingering filth, attached to breastplate and worn cloth pants by bony limbs like they were attached by sticks. His cheeks had rotted away leaving only a gash showing teeth in a permanent grin, a bowl cut of flayed green hair and burning yellow eyes completing the set.
Setting himself upon the box, in the full glow of a lonely lantern, he threw his arms out in gesticulation. "Friends! Comrades! Fellow Forsaken! Know this day that hope remains! Do not embrace the shadows that our brethren would so eagerly have you obey! Ask yourselves! Must we embrace the magics of our barren brothers? Submit to the darkness that feeds upon the soul?" He stabbed a fleshless finger to the bubbling green of the canal, the apothecarium looming dark across the way. "Must we submit to the propagation of such madness? Such darkened deceit and unhallowed works within our very halls?
"No I say!" His shout rang through the mausoleum halls. "Darkness is not the path! Do not believe the lies our darker brothers submit before! The Light remains with us! It has not turned its back upon us! We have it! It's mercy remains should we face it! Do not turn to the shadow merely because the light is bright! Let the purity of the heavenly Light fill you to bursting, purify you in its embrace!"
As he spoke the forsaken's hands erupted in golden glow. A sizzling sound filled the hall as Flagellus threw his head back in ecstasy, light spilling from his body. "Ooooooh yes! Purge me oh Light! Burn me! Purify my weak, sinful flesh with your scalding embrace! Yes! Scourge me! Cleanse my spirit with your golden conflagration. Ahhhhh! Make me suffer!"
Several of those who had been observing promptly took several steps back from the writhing figure on the box, all feeling distinctly uncomfortable watching, as though there was something obscene going on that no one was quite willing to comment on.
