Warrior first... good tanks will be hard to come by... good luck keeping aggro DKs!
Powerful at melee and frost spells, an aura giving (as far as I know) +45% armor compensating a shield and +25% threat I doubt we will have problems holding aggro. We have a weapon buff making a mob more affectable to frost magic stacking 5 times similar to sunder armor. We have a powerful frost taunt and a a shadow taunt pulling mobs to the DK. Then again it isnt revealed how much thread modifier in each ability exists, but I think Frost Strike will work like Heroic Strike with the difference of having a lot of positive modifiers in terms of damage. We have strength as a dual stat, raising threat and avoidance (via talent) simultaneously. Thanks to the elimination of Crushing Blows DKs and druids will be equal tanks. Frost DKs will have a little ability of tanking in an AoE.
Of course the faster tank (= earlier at lvl80) will have slight advantages, but the DK will be a good tank too - it will definitly not fail because of to less threat...
Talking about tanking preferences - shouldnt you be much more concerned about druids (no crushings anymore, bunch of HP, easy threat generation thanks to itemization) and palas (undeads anyone???)? ;)

I really can't decide. The new things in Northrend will be so @#$%in kickass and stuff. Just the feeling of getting to like 75 and whatnot would feel cool. I'll probably do the DK quests that you start out doing...get familiar with the class, and then kinda' alternate until the DK is 70. I'll do Kara on him and have 70+ help and ^&*!.
I seriously doubt that were will be a lot of Kara raids in early WotLK. And maybe, if you are like me, you will like to level so much your DK will easily hit 80 in a month or two ;)

lol, i honestly dont get why some people try to have a hundred and one level 70's (or 80's, in this case).
with that many you'll never get into endgame raid content and you'll never get decently geared, there just isnt enough time. I used to have the same problem at 60 pre-bc, i had too many characters and all my friends were getting epicced out while I was stuck in blues because I tried playing too many alts instead of focusing.
i got a 70 warrior+druid atm, and they are both always saved for the raids im avaible in.
(tho, haven't got any raiding time this 2 weeks)

I'm just interested what you will do first, level your main to 80, or make a death knight and start playing on it?
Give a explanation for your choice.
IMO, I'm going to level my main to 80.
well thats good that you want to get your main to 80 because thats what your gonna have to do to be able to play a DK. form what i have heard you have to get to 80 then do a quest equal to the locks epic rider quest to even be able to start a DK. but heck i could be wrong

Heck, you are wrong. You could have known that by just reading the FAQ...

Level my main to 80 first, then when DK's get nerfed a few times, start playing on a DK.
you took the works out of my mouth,

Level 80 first.
Since my Warlock will always be my main (and the most fun of my characters), I want to get him to 80 to see what awesome new stuff there is, I also want to experience the new areas.
I'll wait for the "Death Knight Craze" to go down a bit, then make one.
My main issue with making a DK, is that I would much rather experience all new content from levels 70-80, then have fun for the first day as a DK in the starting area, and then go through the Outlands again before getting to the new places.

Is your WL Destruction specced? You finally get your green fire at a 51 talent ;)

Nope, I'm Affliction/Destro, so I won't be getting any benefits from the cool new Destro talents. :(
Hopefully Affliction turns out pretty awesome.
This is why I won't go DK first, I want to see all the cool stuff that the new places have to offer for my main.
I also want to build up a good amount of gold, so I can support my DK through his leveling process.

Indeed the other classes get some cool stuff, so maybe the people who will play DKs are either fresh lvl 70 players or not very succesful at raids. There could also be some people of the power raids making a DK for their raid.
Maybe the Death Knight flood will not be that big as most people think.

I think in the end (like a month later), DKs will be at around a regular population level, especially since it's only 1 per realm (per person), and those people need at least a level 55 toon.
I do think though, that in the first week or so, half the people you'll bump into will be DKs (at least it'll be like that in the Outlands), since most of these 55 DKs will soon go there.
But after a small while, most people will go back to their 70s when they realize DKs are not some Godly, Master class, and thats it's just another class.
Then things will be back to what we can call normal.
I think most people will try DKs, and will either love them, or not play them again for months. Especially when I can either play through the Outlands again, or experience a whole new "world", the second choice peek my interests a bit more. But that may be just me and all.

Well, playing the Outlands again will be ok for me. I just played them 2 times. I have some 60 toons I didnt play so far. But right now my main interest lies in the DK class. I havent tanked in a higher level environment so far so playing a DK will be something new for me.
I tried a feral druid once... Extremely boring if you have played a rogue to 60 and in raids and a warrior to 30. Druid is like Manbearpig - w/o the best abilities of the copied classes. Thats why I like the DK. Being able to tank and dps is nice. Thanks to his own play style I can just look forward to play one.

True, I've actually only went through Outlands once, but doing it again just makes me want to bang my head against a wall, because I'm not really into repeating things like that.
I do agree that I'd be interested in tanking and playing with the DK because of the play style they gave it, but I can't say for certain, because they haven't given us enough to go to make an accurate conclusion of how the class will function and work.
