Eldrina'Kalido the Starscourge
Valiance Keep
She could feel the lifeblood coursing through the veins of the living. It was as familiar to her as the placement of the stars even amidst the ire of the burning sun. She felt the sluggishness of a drunkard running through the course of his bottles. The sharpness of a rifleman on the ramparts. The fury of a sergeant directing witless, terrified militia men into battle against a horrific enemy. She found it odd to be between the alien blue of the Draenei Vindicators on the opposite balcony, one of which who was watching her with no small measure of suspicion, and the sea of red blood surrounding her. Dwarves, humans, gnomes were commonplace. It was difficult to pin where the other purple-blooded creatures were, but she had already made the mistake of seeking out their company once. They were not alike, no, her purple lifeblood crawled through her veins with a will all of its own. There were many Deathknights, Knights of the Ebon Blade, but no other than blood Death Knights understood that confusion, to be an entity that seemed so very alive, yet so very clearly not. Her own flesh felt like crude clay. Her spear gave her an unnatural understanding of that transpired of it, and all that made it.
It unnerved her. It was not her place. That was the place of the goddess, and the priestesses of the orders that made her will manifest on Kalimdor. She was a healer once herself, but it was not that way. Her place was in battle, and her understanding meant little. It was her faith that made the difference. Now it was estranged. She was lost. A semi-living creature, spurned by the goddess for falling in battle in her name. Did she deserve this fate? She doubted she would ever know the answers, but the need for truth tore at her. No amount of meditation brought answers, or even peace. Conflict brought a form of insight, but even that could hardly be called peace; not with the unending thirst for conflict. She would never wear anything than the black plate upon her, the saronite brought to heel by unthinking scourge smiths and constantly misting with something horrific. She pulled her cowl up over her head to conceal her bright red hair, but her eyes were all too visible underneath.
So, she stared, observing, watching the strange fleshy beings pad along, seeking their fates and untimely demises. Only when she sensed movement with no pulse did she shift her attention to a single being. Her eyes held fast on the Deathknight form above, judging his course and his intent.

Perhaps it was the cold he seemed to carry with him, but either way, the man at the door of the keep shuddered and turned. His eyes widened at once, travelling up the black steel of the death knight to his hooded face.
"Y-"
"I would speak with your commander," Balrick said.
"Y...I don't...You're not allowed."
"Why?"
The guard straightened a little, perhaps feeling courage from the fact he wasn't dead yet. Or maybe he was just stupid. Tricky to tell them apart. "Because. Your kind...well, what if you're still loyal to the Lich King? Can't have you jsut walking in. YOu might try and assasinate him."
"I am no thrall to the Traitor Prince," Balrick said.
"Well how are we to be sure of that."
Balrick ground his teeth. "Then I will ask you. Where do the Scarlets hide in this frozen waste."
The guard cocked his head, his eyes blinking rapidly in the slit of his helm. "Scarlets?"
"Scarlets. As in the Crusade. Where are they. Your people must know."
"Here, what do you mean 'your people'."
Balrick's hands began to flex in and out of fists. "If you do not know then let me through, so I can find someone who does."
"Still can't do-"
Hands grabbed his tabard and hauled him into the air. "You ignorant insect!" Balrick snapped. Green magic writhed about his fingers, and the man stared in horror as his tabard began to darken and rot. "Either tell me or move aside! Or by all that I still hold holy I will wrench out your flapping tongue and feed it to my horse! And pray that is all I do to you."
The guard gasped, kicking desperately but a grip beyond iron held him, a will fixing his wide eyes to Balrick's. For a moment they remained that way, then, there came a clack of a hammer cocking. Balrick slowly turned his head to face a dwarf, hooded beneath a blue cloak and looking down the length of a blunderbuss.
"Le's not be hasty lad. Put 'im down now."
Balrick looked back to the guard. A stain had grown on the man's breeches. Like a trap Balrick's fingers opened and dropped the man on the ground. He glared down at the guard, then made a shallow bow. "My apologies for my...rashness," he said. He turned so sharply his cloak sent snow fluttering about him, then moved back towards the parade ground. Men and women parted before him swiftly.
Moriv lingered a moment. The horse lowered its head and peeled back its lips from its yellowed teeth. The guard whimpered and the horse snorted, turned, and pranced after its rider.

The Night Elf sprung up onto the roof from the balcony. She sprung with a supernatural deftness, her plate rattling like the bones of the damned as she stepped from shingle to shingle. The sharp points of her boots scored the stone as she cleared the gap of the building to the ramparts, and the riflemen glanced at her in alarm. She felt the blue blood pick up from idleness to movement, yet she wasn't sure if she cared yet. She bounded from stone to stone until she reached the gate and looked down.

Forging his way across the ground, Balrick found his way to the inn. It was typical of the place, slapped together wood and roofing, prefabricated and hastily assembled, but sturdy, and the warmth of a fire glowed in the windows and kept the cold at bay. Balrick climbed the porch, passing a man asleep and slumped over the railing, pausing when he heard a clip clop of hooves. He turned and eyed the dreadsteed which gazed steadfastly at him with its burning blues.
"You stay," he commanded.
The horse nickered and tossed its head.
"No horses allowed inside."
Moriv snorted, but Balrick held its eyes a moment more, then pushed his way inside the inn.
Conversation stopped. The air stilled. Someone had flipped a coin and in the silence it clinked to the table, spun with a rattle, then settled on the ale stained wood. Eyes of every shade stared, but none with the blue fire of his own. Balrick said nothing. He moved forward across the room and felt the eyes cling to his back uncertainly. Soldiers off duty and labourers, all come by the king's command to the forsaken wastes of Northrend. Many were drunk. Balrick reminded himself of that should any start trouble. He hoped they wouldn't. He really did.
The innkeeper had seen many strange things. A death knight was likely not the strangest. A gnome, her hair in pigtails like cotton candy stabled to her head, she pursed her lips as he stopped before her.
"Hi. What can I get you?"
"Your strongest drink. And news."
She turned up her nose, miffed, and hopped off her stool to busy herself at the taps. Balrick sat down and clapsed his hands together, his cloak fanning out about him like a shroud, hiding him in shadows his forearms seemed to stretch from, and his eyes glow like blue pits.

Eldrina waited patiently. Still standing cat still, the Death Knight summoned a whisp to her. The necromantic being, a sick mockery of the things that warded the forest, wailed faintly as it slipped forward through the air, gliding through the walls of the inn to lurk among the rafters.
Agrellar
Vengeance Landing
Agrellar stormed into the inn. It was not unusual for the orc brewmaster to be storming, in fact he seemed incapable of doing little else. His boisterous presence seemed to fill the room as he called aloud, "Greetings! I'm looking for some refreshment! Who can help me!" Being of average build and typical green skin-tone, the bald orc tugged one of the several kegs off his back and slammed it into the floor, "I am willing to pay and to trade! I have many special brews from across the land, spiced with many unique flavors and experiences!" His wide, friendly grin swept the floor, examining those in it with a positive glint. He hardly seemed dressed for the north, but he also seemed hardly affected by the harsh climate.

"I am glad to hear it. And from one in your particular position." His eyebrows lowered as did his voice, and he drew her away from the edge of the cliffs. The gnome returned with a tankard of foaming drink. Balrick grasped it tight and reached into his pocket, dropping several silver onto the counter. "News," he repeated. "Of the Scarlet Crusade."
The gnome raised her brow slowly. "Strange question."
"No," Balrick said solidly. "Not strange. Not at all. I am looking for a man, and wherever the Crusade is, he shall be. He has something of mine. Something precious. And I will cut a bloody swathe through Northrend for it."
"No need for your life story."
"I know. Now tell me."
Moriv raised his head and looked at the night elf crouched among the walls. He snorted and padded towards the gate.

The chilly breeze of the tundra swept the deck of the icebreaker as the high elf came out of the lower decks. Snow fell from the skies and tangled itself into the black hair of the high elf. Shivering the spellblade pulled a cloak over her head and walked the plank to solid, oh so solid ground.
Though it was strange that she felt the waves on the ground...
Wearing the robes of the kirin tor, with a frontal cut for mobility as fitting for a spellblade. The blue eye glowed on her chest and her sword was also made with a violet eye motif and made with the white and blue color scheme.
The winter town was filled with those looking for war, but for the high elf. She looked for the tavern, a meal that wasn't salted herring and potatoes preferably, the sunwell know the lack of variety on board that ship.
Strange to say, but the garrison seems to have a disproportional high amount of humans compared to the other races. Odd. Though it wasn't the most odd thing in the air. The magic, she could fell it. The nexus war. The sunwell returned only for magic to be drained from the world...
With those thoughts Ithalwen entered the inn and took a seat. weary souls rested, from guard duty or traveling. It did not mater. A proper meal was the priority, and a lemon, just to be safe.

"The Scarelt Crusade?" the gnome leaned back and stared at the rafters where oil lamps guttered and filled the air with a black smoke like storms clouds. "Well, near as I heard it, they didn't land near Howling Fjord, or near here. Haven't heard much of them since the whole business in the Plaguelands." She looked down at him. "You a part of that?"
Balrick tightened his fists on the table. "...I was."
"Hm. Oh, wait! My cousin, Missin. She's over there in Winterguard Keep. Yeah. She said they'd been seeing Scarlets around there. In the Dragonblight."
"Dragonblight?"
"Place where dragons go to die. Whole region's covered in their bones. And the dragon's big temple. Word is there's a big magic war going on between them and the blue ones."
"The dragon's war is of no interest to me. You say the Scarlets are there?"
The gnome shrugged. "Last I heard."

The elf ate with delight a northern stew made from mammoths and probably some other local animals. It was poorly spiced, but it tasted superb regardless.
When she had finished her dish she was satisfied with honeymint tea. It warmed her body in the cold of the north, and also gave a fresh breath.
"The nexus war isn't a rumor, the blue dragonflight and the kirin tor are having a war." She informed the ignorant gnome. Could he not fell the dragons work in the air, in the effect of our very spells?

The gnome looked to the elf blankly. "'Scuse me?"
"Unfortunate," Balrick said before the gnome could continue. The death knight looked towards the elf. "There are already too many fronts in this place. Another between dragons is the last thing we need."

"Indeed," Miter said. "We are at war. And it is the will to do what we must, and the strength of our belief that will see us through. For our enemy is death itself, and to conquer it, we must be willing to survive.
"There is a cave," Miter continued. "At the very edge of the Dragonblight. My time before coming here was spent in research, and I believe I have located it. Soon, I will depart, and when I return, it will be with a weapon which will turn the tide of this hated war in favour of the Crusade.
"I would like you, Evlyn, to accompany me."
