Stat requirements for Kara
Return to board index

Hello all
I am currently trying to put together a list of minumum stat requirements to enter Kara for my guild. As I play a prot warrior I do not the intricate details of how Rogues work. Can anybody supply me with information on what the stat requirements would be for each spec or where a good place to research these requirements could be found?

Compendium.

Yes I did. Wowhead has from what I can see the highest knowledge base. So why would I not go to each class forum and ask the experts?

the experts
Again, Compendium.

I have read the compendium. And while it does have a great deal of information on how each stat effects the performance of a rogue, it does not give clues as to where each stat should be or why.
For example, it says a rogue should have a 200 hit rating for entrance into Kara (as a note this is the only time entry-level raiding is mentioned) but does not explain why it should be at 200.
So, where did 200 hit rating come from? Should there be a crit% and AP mark to strive for and if so, how were those numbers figured in?
It is all good for me to go to my guildies and say no, you need to get your hit rating up a little bit more. They can tell me to pound sand or they can go get thier hit rating up. But I want to be able to say to them, you need to get your hit rating to X amount otherwise you will not be able to do Y as well as you need to be able to Z and anywhere below those numbers make Y and Z impossible.
Just having the numbers while it does make less wipes (other then learning a fight wipes) does not make for better players who understand thier class.

What Feanora means is that the best route for you to take is gear up through Heriocs / PvP (weapons) / and crafted gear. You can get a breakdown of starter gear
here
. But there is no benchmark number to start raiding. Most guilds have only health pool requirements of being over 8,000. Doing the above will get you there easy.

What exactly does Rainbow Sherbert smell like? =P

LOL I HAZ GUD REEDING COMPREHENSHUN
Protip: if you're going to call other people rude, it helps not to call them jackasses and pieces of , tell them to fark off, and that you have a massive epeen. You're not helping your case very much.

Yes. Yes it is. I'm glad you pointed that out. Now, let's think about this here... so the OP asked for some numbers, right? kicklucky pointed him toward a resource of information. Having read that information, the OP comes back and says he doesn't quite understand the import of said data. I respond that he's looking for something that doesn't exist. And then you come in out of nowhere and claim that we're being intentionally obtuse, and retarded for giving him an easy place to find what information is available. So what's wrong with this picture?

You answered nothing and provided no links.
Look Here.
Pay more attention before posting about something you know nothing about. I admit, we can be a bit harsh when it comes to threads like this, mainly because we get pages of them every week, of which 90% do not refer to the sticky before asking questions. In this case, the OP read the sticky but asked a question which is essentially irrelevant. "Why do I need at least 200 hit rating?"...."So you hit more?"
Anyways, this has gotten completely off topic thanks to a trolling Pally. Go ahead and bubble hearth back to your forums.
@OP, if you have any more questions about this, please feel free to ask as we are
welcome
to help in any way we can.

Screw it, I left him with
this
. That's all he's asking; that should be the end of it.
Edit: I have an idea and a challenge.
Read the paladin stickies.
I challenge a wowhead rogue to get a gearing guide similar to:

There's much better ones that already exist, like the one kicklucky has linked to several times now. Why waste our time when there's already pre-existing ones to link to?

The OP never said a thing about why they need hit rating... just that he wants an explanation for why certain #'s are met.
As a Rogue, if it is not obvious as to why certain stats are met by the time you hit level 70, you should consider starting over again. In case you were wondering, here is the answer:
Higher stats = Higher DPS
The link I provided to him in addition to the general suggestion as to where he could go to obtain gear provided him with a full list, itemized based on the stat value to determine what is his best route to go to be ready for Karazhan. Other than that, there are no stat thresholds aside from a Hit Rating guideline and a HP guideline. If you get ~200 Hit, you will meet the other stats (AP, AGI, Crit, etc.) by default.
And again, for someone who is so self righteous about not being a jerk on the forums, your posts have been the most immature and maladjusted that we have seen in a while. Now shoo, you have no business here.

If I wanted to look crap up on that moronic forum I would.
Problem is that that site.. well they arent correct.
Their stats do not match anyone elses(websites)
As for explanations... they dont have any.
They fully life up to their name,
I came to wowhead because wowhead has insightful, helpful people on it.
aparantly not on the rogues forum.

Well then that proves you didn't even click the link. The link I posted was to Shadowpanther.net,
NOT
ElitistJerks.com. It is not a forum, rather a spreadsheet of all the gear options he has. It is even labeled as "Starter PvE Gear". It does explain why things are rated as they are, and is agreed upon throughout the entire Rogue community as correct.

again we came to wowhead.. not that other site you posted.
And he is not a rogue.
He is compiling a list of static requirements.
So no.. he has no idea of what is required. That is why he came here.
And a link to an offsite reference is not what is asked.
#'s and their supporting reasoning is what was asked.
And I do not think it is such a terrible question.
Certainly not one that should be answered immediately... as writing a guide as such can take time.
A simple response" working on it" would suffice.

I see no need to write a guide when the link I posted (one time, not several) works just fine the way it is. Of course he isn't a Rogue, and wouldn't know about ShadowPanther. He does now though.
So no, we aren't "working on it" because there is nothing to work on. The first section of the Compendium links to ShadowPanther, and his sheets are right. I'm done with your narcissism, you have no place here and yet you continue to argue incoherently about a topic you've already admitted to knowing nothing about. I, too, and done with this thread.

Why waste your time on this when you could just say
"this much, and this much, and this much"..."Btw next time read recent threads for you questions... Thanks =)"
It would have been a lot easier.
Because it would be wrong. Unlike healers and tanks, we don't need a set amount of +healing or health. There are multiple stats and attributes that affect our DPS, and we don't require a set amount of one of them. For those of you that say to stack hit rating, you probably don't realize that t5 has very little hit rating, even though it is superior to t4.

Oh and I came across this thread:
http://www.wowhead.com/?forums&topic=8660
I believe it answers the OP's question quite thoroughly.
Perhaps someone could have the rogue's section added to the compendium? It would do a LOT to keep people from asking these types of ?'s
