Point of Heroics is to gear up. Don't like the chances of ending up with "low gearscore" people? Don't do Heroics.
You'll loose 2 Frost Badges but hey, at least you can gain some Badges raiding with "high gearscore" people. Assuming you meet the 5k+ requirements for ToC10.
Now I agree that heroics are there to gear up for raiding, True. However Heroics are not ment to be used to gear up for heroics.
The previous night Ive done multiple heroics with several people not breaking the 1,5k dps or heck even several warlocks only getting 700 dps. Geared in @#$% blues (crafted pvp blues, with a blue weapon)
There is NO EXCUSE, to be doing heroics with a blue weapon anymore. Between crafted epics and the epic weapons from the argent tournament dailys. You have no reason to be running around with some blue junk you got in Zuldrak.
Not to mention the bucketload of BOE epics that get thrown at you these days. If you get lucky on the AH, with just a measely 2k gold you can buy several good level 200 items, Or just queue for normal Totc5, its super easy even with crummyer gear and it gives you epics to boot.
Anyway the mot epic fail Ive seen this week was a ret paladin, with several pieces of dps gear, holy gear and tanking gear with a spirit enchant on his tanking boots... Huh?
I don't craft epics anymore its to expensive when I can just go straight into heroics. Not only that I don't even do the argent dailes because I can't concentrate long enough to do so. SO I heroic a bit after about 2 days of that I am in alot of Epics with the only ones I need are those I can't get with badges.

I was doing H Nexus on my Ret Pally, and i couldn't help but keep getting confused as to why i had aggro all the time on a mob or two for the first five minutes.
Turns out I had righteous fury on >.>
Also turned out that the tank was actually one of my Guild Officer's alts, and he was the first one to notice unfortunately.

Grouped with a lvl 39 mage today who hadn't spent ANY talent points. The Holy pala beat him on dps just using judgements >.<
He could've been doing a 0/0/0 spec for levelling. I've seen another thread about levelling without a spec at all.

It's unlikely. More likely that he didn't know what talents are.

Once I was in ICC10 with my healer(priest) and we somehow made it to the second boss. DPS was so low/bad that they couldn't even kill the adds and we would wipe because of too many adds. After the first try I started getting bored because there isn't a lot to do with 3 healers so I began to DPS the boss. I almost beat some of the dps toons. That was more or less the moment I decided to leave.

I had a DK try to "tank"
All he was holding aggro on was a single target. The rest of the group needed more healing than that guy.

Wasn't in a dungeon, but earlier today I was questing in thousand needles, and was doing those quests on darkcloud pinnacle. I'm done with everything and I'm riding down the bridges and stuff.
As I get to one of the plateaus from a bridge, I slip, and promptly plummet to my death.
Needless to say it looked strange to see a sparklepony fall straight down.

I had my pet out, and he pulled the random mobs in OK H, in the twilight cultist area.
Same thing, same place for me. I paid for my mates repairs (guildie run) but man did I feel stupid!

Not epic fail from me but from Horde.
Around 1 month ago when I was leveling my rogue, I was at level 46, I didn't know where to go quest for exp, so I decided to go to Feralas for 1 level, I went through 1k-needles and got to the border of Feralas, I had just come out of BG, so I was still flagged for pvp, I went along the road to Ally quest area(island on water).
A bit before the Horde quest town, I noticed a message "Player X asks you to wait" (did /wait command). I stopped and looked behind, there were 2 Horde warlocks, level 45 and 44(both flagged), I didn't know why they started casting fear, but then I realized I was flagged for PvP, I instantly went near him with my mount, hit kick and then began SS spam and killed 1 of them quickly, I hit vanish then I hit cheap shot on the lower level one, blow Adrenaline and SS to 5cp then kidney and he was dead, all happened within around 30 seconds :D
Tho I was loaded with BoA to the teeth, was pretty epic win. They didn't even touch me(their pets did tho).
Moral of the story: Don't mess with me >:3
