I tank because I'm good at it, and watching nubs try to do it makes me cringe.
Aye, havent met a better tank then myself yet :)
Macros ftw!

Firstly, I like to be in control. I like to call the shots. When I'm tank, I'm usually leader. I mark the targets, I call the shots, I decide who dies first. And by golly, when it works, it's fun!
But I enjoy all roles. Truely. Sometimes I get whispers "Hey, can you heal heroic?". I consider it, I check the time.. And then I put on my robe and wiza.. I mean, my healgear. it's only got +1k healing, and I'm feral-specced, but damn, if I can't heal a heroic, it's the damned tank who's undergeared. *nod*
And, well, nothing beats having the guild's highest armor-migitation, healthbar, and then on the next boss, kick everybody's arse in DPS.
God, I love druids.

3: People write you while you're clearly doing something else. No I don't want to come tank a dungeon I've never needed any gear from instead of doing AV.
I've had people asking me to come tank Shadow Lab normal in the middle of the fight on Illidan. :)
Personally, I suppose I enjoy the responsibility as some of the others here, although my feral druid is starting to feel a tad easymode when it comes to tanking (not tanking in general, which is still challenging, or at lest moreso than other aspects of PvE). I also have a paladin who was protection for quite some time, but am currently taking a break from responsibility on him and as such he is currently specced retribution, which I find very enjoyable. For my dps characters I've always been drawn to odd specs - my warlock alt is full time felguard, not only for PvP but for PvE as well - I've played him in our alt raids to 5/6 SSC and 3/4 TK (we go in and kill Vashj and Kael'thas with the mainraid if we manage to clear up to them with alts).
Any other tank with the urge to make their other characters more challenging with odd specs?

I tank because most warriors cannot put out enough tps to keep it off the shadow priest >.>
but in all seriousness I dont tank because I tanked as a war/mnk and then to pld/war through final fantasy 11, I got so sick of it I didn't even try it when I came over to wow.

I have a lvl 70 orc warrior with good tanking gear.the reason i tank is cos its a challenging role in instance/raid runs.thats because u have to keep your threat lvl higher than all the others which means more intense fights.sometimes ofc i respecc for pvp(although in avs u do need a tank at least:P)and to farm some g but in instances i prefer tanking.and wtf is wrong with ppl saying tanking is boring?neither dps NOR tanking is boring on the contrary i believe tanking is less boring than dps cos all dpsers do is just attack the mob but the tank must taunt/spam devastate and use many skills to keep the threat up.thats all(hope i didnt say anything noobish^^)
