Heckler, thanks for clearing that up.
If I mind control her creature, do I attack with it during my attack phase, as if it were my creature?
You would Mind Control on your turn, as a sorcery, and it would have summoning sickness when it comes into your control. You would not be able to attack until the next turn.

does it last forever?

Innistrad booster box. Today is awesome.
does it last forever?
It's in enchantment if I remember correctly, so, yes.

Unless it says otherwise or someone destroys it, a permanent (land, creature, artifact, enchantment, or planeswalker) is in play until the end of the game.

Except in the case of auras (a specific type of enchantment that enchants a creature), which only remain in play so long as the creature they are attached to remains.

Yeah. Magic doesn't seem complicated at all until you start having to explain it xD

free trial? where?
Download the client (Click on the "Download Client" link
here
) and when you launch it and it installs and updates, there's a little link at the login screen that says "Play Free Trial." It seems to be unlimited.

Innistrad is the new expansion, right?
I have no idea what this launch party is actually
for
, let alone what cards I should expect in the booster draft.

Yes Innistrad is the new set :) If it's a launch party, that's what you'll see in the draft

Sweet. I now know one piece of information! I feel slightly less unarmed.
I mean, really slightly. But it's a start!
Also I sort of know about dominating and submitting, and focusing on the Common cards more than anything else, especially in the first pack.

There's already an entire spoiler list for Innistrad if you want to get familiar with the cards. Lots of cool stuff.

Just remember BREAD, and choose your cards in that order.
Bombs: Any cards that could almost win you the game on their own (for instance Garruk Relentless or Army of the Damned)
Removal: Any cards that will help you deal with any of your opponent's permanents
Efficiency: Any card that gives you the most bang for the least amount of mana. The more expensive cards are usually more expensive because they work in specific combos which are very hard to put together in a draft. Instead you want the 2/2 drop with first strike and some protection for instance. Most of your deck should be made of these cards.
Aggression: Any card that is quick and decisive enough to unbalance your opponent. Cheap burn spells, haste creatures, or any card that when it's down is going to be killed fast by your opponent for him to not fall behind.
Dregs: Big cards, like the bombs, but that aren't as good. You'll want one or two for late game.

I should probably look at that, yeah ...

If an enchantment card makes a creature unblockable, unattackable, and untargetable, is the enchantment itself targetable?
Will the Instant "Counter spell" put a creature back into the owner's hand, or the graveyard?

Yes.
No.

If the enchantment only says the creature is untargetable, then you can do whatever you want to the enchantment card as long as the spell you're casting can have an enchantment as its legal target (you could not cast a damage spell on it for instance).
When a spell is interrupted it goes to the graveyard unless otherwise stated. In fact nothing will ever return to your hand unless it's specifically stated.

Yeah, I've already pre-ordered a ton of stuff. I hate the vampire / werewolf thing, but there are some amazing cards.

uw control looks like it will see a major revival.

Well, I played 5, won 2, lost 3. Played White/Blue -- a mix of creature tokens and a lovely 5/3 Flying bomb (untouchable when a human is in my control). The bomb won me the most games, I think. I got hammered by a couple of ridiculous milling decks.
