glyphed mage armor has been relegated to a leveling armor....if you're not using frost armor. Hrm.
If you have 3/3 Arcane Meditation, you'd probably won't be using the glyph.
It does free up a glyph slot, and solve the eternal Glyph of Molten Armor vs. Glyph of Mage Armor discussion.

so theorycraft me this...
at what point does the amount of spirit equal out to more DPS than taking another glyph over the glyph of molten armor?
for instance... the old glyph of molten armor gave you a solid total 5% increase in crit chance.
now, in my particular case, with the new glyph of molten armor mechanics, my increase in crit chance is just UNDER 5% (it's actually... around 4.7-4.8%)
if my spirit were considerably lower, would it be more beneficial to take a different glyph such as the arcane power glyph?
don't ask me to rawr it, cause rawr isn't working on my computer.. lol. i need to figure out wtf is wrong with it, but until then i trust you magical mathematicians to help me out.

You'd need about 418 spirit with the glyph to get 5% crit (at lvl 80)
Might be hard to get while leveling, but should be trivial to exceed, raid-buffed.

yet again... raid buffs fail to factor into my thinking when it comes to stuff like that.. /sigh
one day i'll start taking things like that into account before i open my big mouth.

I might be reading it wrong cause I'm half-asleep but why did you put in 5/5 into imp Fireball when it is a Frostfire spec?

You do know without the Scorch glyph, you still get the 5% crit, right? Albeit slower to stack.
It's kind off a no-brainer. The 3 glyphs you're gonna get as a Fire mage is Living Bomb, Fireball, and Molten Armor, in order of decreasing dps gain.

Oh, and on another note, do Living Bomb's ticks ignite upon critting?
/sigh.. god I hope not.. we're having enough ignite munching issues at the moment with double critting off of hot streaks and such as it is.. and blizzard doesn't seem to give a rat f@#$ about ignite munching..
if LB ticks proc ignite, then our DPS as frostfire or fire/arcane would drop a lot because it would munch out the ignite from the 15k crits from our spec specific nuke, and replace it with an ignite off of a 2-3k crit from LB.... that would be insane, and you would see a lot of very angry mages.
edit: typo.. derrr

Oh, and all of you gearing for FFB with FM because it's the highest DPS spec now ... you might want to hold on to your FB gear.
I'm going to restate the problem here since this will likely get quoted a lot. The dual-spec feature can't currently wipe buffs that you have already cast on other players when you drop that spec. It is in our plans for that to happen. At first, we figured it wasn't a big deal for 3.1 because it mostly affected things like Improved Mark of the Wild (cast MotW, then change spec to a spec that didn't "waste" the points on it).
However, we do think it has gotten to be a bigger problem for a couple of talents, including Focus Magic and Hunger for Blood, so are liable to hotfix those sooner
. The goal is not to so much to nerf classes taking advantage of this "tactic." We are very concerned about anything that will make dual spec feel mandatory. If we're at the point where mages feel like they can't take advantage of the feature because they have to use one spec on Focus Magic (and then have to annoyingly swap specs every 30 min or whatever), then it is time to make the change.
Competitive dps is always a concern. If we think this change will really cripple mage dps (which I think is a little hard to argue at this point), then we'd prefer to buff you in other ways rather than force you to play in a way that feels tedious.
Again: you can all assume that long-term the feature will work that if you swap specs, every buff you cast will be removed. Buff specs were not at all the point of the featue.
