Star Wars died with the new Clone Wars animated film. Star Trek, however, will always be epic (although nothing can get close to the epicness of Babylon 5).
Another Babylon 5 lover! Go

Quegster! I'm in dire need of help!
G4 no longer has my lovely Star Trek! I've been meaning to ask for assistance for a while, but I haven't had time and was embarrassed.. I don't have the money or time to acquire the money to buy a season DVD set, either!

Star Trek died with Voyager. Star Trek: Enterprise was just beating a dead horse.
Laihendi's ranking of the various Star Trek series:
Star Trek TOS: Excellent.
Star Trek TNG: Excellent (Slightly better in Laihendi's opinion, but it's a toss up)
Star Trek DS9: Not as good as the previous series, but still an ok show
Star Trek Voyager: Pretty lame...
Star Trek Enterprise: Terrible.

No, it didn't. There's still a whole galaxy that can be drawn upon for stories.
Just because a movie older fans (who it wasn't aimed at, anyways) didn't like came out doesn't mean it died.
Still waiting for people to start making stories behind
Spore
created species.

I've been gone a week and you've come back to the forums? Totally called it, lame attempt at drama ftl.
Anyways, I like Star Wars better, it just has a kind of medieval action feel, in a sci-fi scenario.

I was not attempting to "leave". I said I was taking a small break. I was not attempting any "drama" thanks very much. If you want drama go to vikey. You need a new name imo.

That's the point. Star Wars is for space fantasy. Super swords stuff and magic/force? But if you want a true space/sci-fi kind of deal, I would say go to Star Trek.

1: Was pretty good, successful in revitalizing the series and i think its going to bring in a ton of new fans without alienating longtime fans. especially as new movies are to be made. I'd give more detail on my reasoning, but i don't want to spoil anything.
2: i first started watching the next generation, so this is my favorite.
3: Worf, badass and awkward at the same time.
4: Kirk has a slight edge.

Can you rephrase what you're saying because I don't understand what message you're trying to get across?

I think what he means is,
star wars = space fantasy
star trek =
Sci
fi, as in a space fiction based on science, not fantasy

Star Wars = A sword and sorcery-like story set in space.
Star Trek = A space epic.
If you actually want a space/sci-fi story, watch Star Trek. If you just want a good action flick with "magic" and "super-swords," watch Star Wars.

Basically, yeah.

though i agree the two are different, as my above post, i also think that star wars has
just as much
substance as star trek and isn't just a movie for action and super powers in space. Star wars has a many links to mythology, which make it a fantasy movie.

I just don't get a feeling of satisfaction and sustenance when watching Star Wars. That doesn't mean that they aren't good movies, just that Star Trek satisfies me more.
