I'm generally opposed to using addons that make certain actions easier.

hehe.. well they are like a drug once u enabled them u can disable them. but soo usefull one heal for every button on ur mouse and if u add shift/ctrl/alt u get even more spells.
well u can heal easy without addon if you click on the player and use a key for the heal, did that before i was using an addon.

As long as you don't keyboard turn as well, you're probably okay.
The biggest thing you lose with clicking is the ability to use mouseover macros.

The way I do is hover my mouse over their frame, and click the spell on the keyboard. I even have my taunt for tanking macroed that way.

My advise is to slowly transition into keybinding. Assuming your using WASD as your movement, you can easily bind 1,2,3,Q,E to your 5 most used abilities, like stuff that is used almost every rotation like mangle/lacerate/swipe, etc. These are probably the easiest keys to get comfortable with, as you can access them with one of your strafing movement fingers. Then for other less often used abilities, just click. Once you get comfortable with 5 keybinds, start slowly increasing them. Personally i only use 1-5, Q,E,Z,X,C, and click anything from 6-10, and find 10 buttons keybinded quickly to be sufficient.
I used to be a clicker too, but after slowly introducing in some keybinding, i found myself to be much more quicker to respond to certain situations, which is always important if your a tank or healer. Bartender is a pretty good mod for customizing your binds, and rearranging your bars to be more visible (this helps even if you remain a clicker, and the keybinds are character specific too, so you don't have to worry about it affecting other ones)

Which lets be honest is more fun ^^.
More fun for people who like clicking. Less fun for people who like keys. No fun for people with no fingers.

Me too.
To that effect, I find even that a bright, easy-to-read screen makes things too easy for clickers, so sometimes, I turn the brightness down to zero and use the force.
No wait, I'm a keybinder, and am using additionally using a Fang Gamepad, which rocks.

Clicking and Keybindings is the best way to play IMO. I hit everything 1-6 on my keybinds and click anything thereafter. 1-6 are my main abilities on all my characters and anything after that is special situation abilities(maim, kidney shot, curse of doom..etc and cooldowns such as berserk and cold blood).

can someone please actually tell me the downside to being a clicker?
It comes down to fluidity of movement while using abilities, and camera control while using abilities. As left and right clicking the screen are how you (should) rotate your character and your camera, if you are clicking your abilities it makes it harder to say, keep spamming tank abilties while slowly rotating the camera 360º to evaluate the situation. Likewise if you are melee DPS and are moving around lots, you often can't run, spin, look and use an ability at the same time with clicking, but you can with keybinds.
And this highlights why there is even a debate about it - in PvE content, you don't really
need
to do any of this. Mobs move predictably and generally in straight lines. Looking around can be done after a short delay because the situation itself is very predictable.
For competitive PvP it is a different matter entirely - for that Keybinding wins hands down.
On a side note it is worth bearing in mind some basic UI principles when considering which method is more efficient (not necessarily better, just more efficient). The main one that springs to mind is
Fitt's Law
. To summarise it - the time it takes to acquire a target (click/press a button, real or onscreen) is a function of how far away the target is, and how large it is. i.e. close and large = fast, far and small = slow. So for clicking to be as efficient as keybinding (on keys adjacent to your movement keys), your cursor must remain right next to the abilities you are clicking, always, for the entire duration of all combat. As soon as you have cause to move the cursor away from your core abilities, your clicking efficiency drops.
But as has been discussed above, some people have awesome aim and enjoy the challenge of compensating for a slightly less efficient control system, do very well clicking, and enjoy it too. Others don't like this (or struggle with it) and look for ways to optimise their config with keybinds.

If you click the right abilities fast enough, its not a problem, tho even when considered a "clicker" using 1-2-3-4 and some other buttons around your left hand to reach abilities is recommended, because it is really simple.
As a rogue I am clicking some abilities as well, but the ones i use the most, like sinister, SnD, rupture I have bound to 1-2-3
