Attunement for MC...watching people who were not attuned jump through the window and die in the lava.
Having to grind rep to get keys to do the heroic version of 5mans.
Getting a pug raid group together on an alt because you saw a world boss on your main out in the middle of no where trying to beat the horde to it.

You remember when you where considered a pro warrior tank (or a pro healer!) when you could take 3 dps classes without cc through a 5man heroic.

When you thought Thori'dal was the most amazing thing ever.

Lets see:
-You remember making the wetlands run on a level 1 Nelf to play with friends in EK
-You ever collected crypt fiend parts or any other Agent Dawn rep
-Remember Fade being completely impotent from dropping threat...HEALING threat
-No indoor roots
-Bringing Fandral loads and loads of Marowgrain, never asking WHY
-Killing refugees at the Greymane wall for the horde lock Succubus quest
-Dying to the summoned Voidwalker on the previous lock quest
-Spending days tracking down and buying the mats needed for your
Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe
and feeling invincible
-mastered yo-yoing mobs with alternating Curse of Recklessness and fear
-Ever kept a 1H just so you could use your Spellstones
-Ever tried to use a firestone and melee (because why else would it be in the game?)
-Remember a fleeing mob was the most dangerous thing EVER
-Remember specific spellpower +damage schools
-Remember when Holy Fire was a 5 second cast time and a longer cd
-Priests had a talented combat Rez
-Mind Blast had an additional threat component
-Inner Fire increased Priest attack power had charges and a 3 min duration
-Selecting your priest race because of racial priest spells and thinking Starshards was OP
-Completing Stratholme gauntlet in the 1 hour time limit was accolade worthy

... you know where to find Mankrik's wife.
... you stayed in the Barrens 'til well past 30 just for the chat.
... you summoned Infernals and dropped the enslavement on it. In Crossroads.
... you remember when the Barrens was way more barren. (A lot of trees and bushes were added in patch 1.6.0)
... also in that patch, the Sickly Gazelles actually started looking sick.
... original tier 2 gear.
... LFG UD Strat
... putting points in Wand Specialization.
... "!@#$, taunt missed"
... not knowing the end of Smiling Jim's tragic tale until BC.

When getting Verigan's Fist was a big deal.
Still hate Wetlands to this day, ^&*!ing ingots.

Verigan's fist was one of my favorite quest chains in the game.

When being a raiding Mage ment the following;
-Be 15-20 minutes early to every raid to make water, 4 at the time, and hoping a nice druid would innervate you.
-Frost is the only viable spec.
-After every end boss being killed, stack on other mages to do a portal-gamble, laugh at the 15 people who ends up stuck in Darnassus.
-If you want to go fire, you better have ToEP+ZHC and PoM. Oh, you can only PvP with this, and be awesome every 3 minutes.
-Jailbreak is not something you do with your iPhone, its a boring endless BRD run that drives you crazy! And, you have to do it about twice a week to get people their Onyxia attunement ready!
EDIT;
And lastly ofc, when you read other posts here, giggle and think "Dude? TBC/Wrath is NOT old school..........."

-You actually had to use CC to survive a battle and still get mad at people who break CC.
-You see people who think LFG means Looking For Guild, and you frown.
-You see people who don't know what VC means, and you frown.
-You were laughed at in vanilla for being an Engineer.

-When you remember the sheer panic and confusing on the days with the Hakkar disease epidemic.
-When the AQ gate opened and you was stuck in stonetalon on the boat.
-When just getting to the instance was an adventure in itself.
-You actually cared about what your team in your 5 man was doing.

Note how this thread was originally posted in 2009. That is, even in wotlk people were crying about "how much better the game used to be." How's that for all the people who presently cry about "how much better the game used to be in wotlk"?
you gave itharius your chained essence of eranikus and all you got was this lousy shirt
I was so unhappy about this. At the time I used to think that trinket was very powerful and I really liked it. By the way Itharius spoke I thought you would get a very worthwhile reward if you sacrificed it, but you didn't. You got like a very small amount of money.
you used to wonder what the caverns of time, dark portal, and deadwind pass were all about
I still have screens of going into CoT before it was finished. You could die outside the blocked entrance and resurrect inside; it was all walking around in midair, surrounded by stars and random objects. But I definitely used to wonder about Deadwind Pass, I kept waiting for them to do something with it.
