That is true...to an extent. Still love the books, lol...although they're not my absolute favorite books. Hard to say what are, really...the Song of Ice and Fire series is probably up there, as is Catch-22. Those are the only ones I can surely say are some of my absolute favorites.

Queggy- name all the dwarves in the Hobbit off the top of your head and 1 fact about them.
You prolly can't do it. Google them if you can't and then see if you can remember 1 fact now that you have their names down.
I am guessing you might get like 4.
You're talking to Queggy, the biggest LotR fanboy I know. I'm just telling you to prepare yourself.
Dwalin - first Dwarf to arrive at the house
Balin - Kept up a correspondence with Bilbo afterwards
Fili - Thorin's cousin; died defending Thorin
Kili - Fili's brother; died defending Thorin
Bifur
Bofur
Bombur - Really fat, sort of a load
Thorin - The leader guy
Oin
Gloin - Father of Gimli
Dori
Nori
Ori
I named 'em all. Got facts for a few of 'em.

Not a fan of the Tolkien works, which is fine; I know he provided the basis for a lot of stuff, but I prefer how other authors forged their own (Dragonlance's Mountain, Hill, Gully Dwaves spring to mind).... even if I disliked the final Kyrnn series; Dragons of a Fallen Sun and it's two sequels were just bad heh.

My point- the mere fact that you used the fact that one of them talks to Bilbo after the journey kinda proves my point...
Actually I always thought it was fairly notable that he was the only one to keep a long-standing friendship with Bilbo. But I'm not here to argue about your opinion on a book that you've clearly already made...

So I just literally had a banana in my pocket. Therefore, I'm not that happy to see you. Discuss.

War of souls=Bad
Rest of Dragonlance=Good
This is the truth.
Now for dwarves (And we all know I am the dwarf-know-it-all).
Forgotten Realms=Best dwarves of all. Especially R.A. Salvatore's dwarves.

Eh, friend of mine disliked it when she read Dragons of Summer Flame heh, she had just gotten fond of the 2nd Generation, then finding out most of them died made her sad. But yeah, War of the Souls was awful, I'm glad the series went back before that horrible trilogy started.....

Quick warning for you. I've read all of the LotR books (including The Silmarillion and The Unfinished Tales over thirty times each. Been reading 'em all since elementary school. And I memorized the names of the dwarves a LONG time ago. I will swear to you on anything that I did not cheat and look any of this up or anything.
(In order of appearance if I remember correctly:)
Dwalin -
Brother to Balin. Ruled the Lonely Mountain after Thorin's death.
Balin -
Brother to Dwalin. The Dwarves "look-out man." Best friend among the dwarves of Bilbo.
Kili and Fili -
Brothers. Sons of one of the few female dwarves ever named (Dis). Died defending Thorin in the Battle of the Five Armies.
Dori, Nori, and Ori -
Brothers. Dori carried Bilbo through the Misty Mountains for a short time.
Oin and Gloin -
Brothers. Always made the campfires. Both accompanied Balin on the expedition to Moria. Oin died at the gate when he was taken by the Watcher in the Water. Gloin is the father of Gimli, one of Frodo's companions.
Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur -
Bifur is a cousin while Bofur and Bombur and brothers. Bombur is the fattest dwarf. Later in his lifetime it took six young dwarves to lift him up.
Thorin II (Oakenshield) -
King Under the Mountain. Led the expedition. Killed in the Battle of the Five Armies.
Edit -
Meh, Fathios beat me to it. I was busy and couldn't check the thread.
