I don't find slapstick funny. I like situational humor, like Fight Club, or Lebowski. In fact, I detest slap stick. If I ever see Ben Stiller in person, I'm going to politely ask him to never be involved in the production of another movie.LaBouf never shuts the hell up.

Hayden was worse. In a movie full of animated robots and no plot, Shia's acting wasn't bad enough to stand out in my mind. Hayden was in the same movie as Jar Jar, and I still remember thinking what a bad actor he was.

I will reply to the issues on the previous pages at some point, I promise, Rankkorr and Elhonna. I respect you both deeply, so you deserve a proper debate, and I feel I can put up my side of the argument a bit better given time to formulate an Elhonna-esque treatise. Right now I'm just a bit tired because I've been out for dinner, and I'm not in much of a mood for debating*.

I really couldn't care less at this point, MyToe. It irritates me so much how you cry about not being a bigot, when presenting bigoted views. How you claim to be in favour of homosexual equal rights, when you deny them the equal rights they ask for. How you claim you want the separation of church and state, yet you fully utilise your antiquated religion-inherited morals from irrelevant, ancient contexts in any vote you would cast on the subject of governance.

and now onto a different topic:
I just saw* the most recent version of the movie Saw, and I must say......... the horror genre has degenerated a lot lately :S
I remember when I watched Nightmare on Elm street and Pet sematary for the first time, I wasn't able to sleep for days. Now, film directors think that pouring 500 gallons of red-dyed corn syrup posing as blood, and splattering that everywhere will make a movie scary.........
A real horror film can scare the crap out of you without the need of showing a single drop of blood, like The Ring.
Overall, I think its sad when I can watch a "horror film" and/or slasher film, and not only not be scared in the least, but also be able to predict fairly accurately who will die, and when, and how.

@Rankorr- I love horror, but I find very little of it actually scary anymore. I also agree that we've become desensitized to gore. I will say that Hostel (the first one) was...maybe disturbing is a better word than scary. Not because of the gore, but because their depiction of large scale callousness and the devaluation of human life was disturbingly real-feeling, and matter-of-fact. I think the creepiest part of that whole movie is in the locker room, where that one guy is talking about how he's going to murder and torture this girl, as though he's describing this new game he got, or new sports activity he was going to try- he even asked for pointers. The combination of just...real glee...with his average Joe demeanor and seemingly normal affect was so creepy, and the scene went on for way too long.
