If you saved the game with a Misingno on the file it would corrupt it as far as I know. You could capture, just don't save him...
Laihendi made the fatal error of saving after capturing one years ago.

Yes, not a very well balanced team, but Laihendi didn't know better at the time.
Ooh you had Articuno, me too, but I actually had Zapdos too :D
I also caught Missingno (we didn't know it was Missing Number back then) and had to restart my game because alot of things didn't work after that.

Nidoqueen (renamed Smasher): 100(did the glitch to get to level 250 a few times for fun)

If I don't capture all the legendary Pokemon I delete my file and start again.
Why don't you just save right before engaging with the legendary pokemon so when you fail you just shut the game off or quit so you can try again as many times as you need until you get it?

Woah woah woah... Laihendi has already made numerous Pokemon threads, why can't those be the official ones? :'(
Also, 3rd gen pokemon are teh suck, l2Red/blue and Gold/silver (mainly just l2Red/blue).
